Chalet PHILOMENA — Hotel in Albertville

We stayed at Chalet Philomena in the summer of 2021 with a group of friends and had a fantastic time! The chalet's location is very special: very secluded, surrounded by nature and with beautiful mountain views. It offers full privacy and tranquility. The chalet has been tastefully restored and decorated and the various bedrooms and bathrooms on the lower floor are conveniently configured. The upper floor is very spacious, yet with several cosy corners. All modern facilities and comforts were present (well-functioning wifi, large TV, books, games, etc.). The kitchen provided for ample workspace and was fully-equipped, making it easy to cook for larger groups. Finally, the wooden terraces next to the chalet were simply stunning, with the sun present almost all day. To reach the chalet, the use of the Can-Am (available as part of the chalet's rental) or another 4x4 vehicle is indispensable given the long and steep slope, but this was very easy and did not pose any inconvenience. What we appreciated a lot was the possibility to do numerous beautiful hikes (offering breathtaking views on the Mont Blanc and nearby mountains) directly from the chalet without having to take the car. With the car, both vibrant Chamonix and beautiful Annecy and its lake are within a one hour's drive, and several other nice towns and attractions are even closer. Fabulous chalet - the perfect mix of rustic authenticity and mod cons. Emmanuelle and Thomas have succeeded in creating that rare mix of a luxury chalet in a completely rural setting. The warmth and generosity of the owners and their evident pleasure in opening their home to guests and sharing their pleasure in the area was a delight. Everything had been thought of to create a seamless holiday from the welcome package and advice on activities to regular updates during our stay on local events. Lots to do in the area with many local walks with fabulous views over the local mountains and beyond towards Mont Blanc and very different experiences depending on whether you descended down the gorge towards the Megeve valley, or over the col to La Clusaz....

The host Emmanuelle was very helpful and always responsive. We really appreciate this type of guests services. We are a family of adults and little children from a region have no such mountain routes and this caused the family not to feel happy as the chalet is on a very high slopes slopes in the middle of the mountain s.
