A really expensive experience! The owner of the hotel was very unflexible and said he lock the door at 20:00, so if we would be there after 20:00, we will not get our room. When we asked for a free cancelation he refused and like an enchanted disk stated that the check in is at 20:00 the latest and thats it.
Since it was impossible for us to make it at this strict dead line we lost the room and did not get anything back of the 230 euros that we had paid, and since it is in the middle of the high season we could not find another hotel in the area and had to sleep in the car.
We kindly asked the owner to wait 45 minutes to make a solution for us, but he refused.
We are surprised that a hotel of this price does not offer more flexibility and customer service. If you dont want to work/be available after 20:00 or have someone helping you after this time, you should not run a hotel.
However the worst part is that he refused to refund us. We feel robbed. We got stuck in traffic and lost a 230 euros hotel room. The owner does not care anything about it because it is the season and he thinks he can treat people with no empathy because the rooms are selling out any way.
Our advice is to not book this hotel! Especially not if you are driving or coming by plane because then you risk to get locked out if you get stuck in traffic or your plane is delayed. A hotel at this price should have solutions for situations like this.
Reply to the extremely gentle director of the hotel.... 1 st of all I have not ask for any cancellation of the booking but just to wait the time to drive around the bay of Arcachon to reach the hotel ( that is located in the other side of the bay) . 2 nd I have contact you several times to explain the issue we were landed in the other side thinking it would be possible to drive close to the hotel by the ferry. 3 rd I have never ask you to do anything else rather than tell me where I should have come to pick up the key or to do the check in ( already done online) or if you needed an extra payment for a late check in ( 45 min after the latest time that it is 20:00 in the summer and not midnight !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ) 4 th Your reply was instantly rude and unrespectful towards me and my girlfriend who was trying to explain you we did not have any other options where to sleep cause it was mid of August and that for sure you are not Airfrance or Lufthansa and probably you should think to fly down to heart rather than writing nonsense like : C'est pas quand on a fait dans son slip que l'on va aux toilettes ! 5 th last but not least after almost 2 years I still feel robbed of 2.300 SEK and you should still feel ashamed...

Le "responsable" soi-disant de l'établissement nous invite à contacter Booking.com ce que je fais immédiatement le lendemain sauf que l'établissement Hôtel Home Arcachon ne donne aucune suite pendant plusieurs jours et il a fallu être désagréable au téléphone en appelant une énième fois l'établissement pour obtenir enfin une réponse le Vendredi 14 Juillet 2023. Une réponse surréaliste et pas du tout professionnel comme si nous avions élevé les cochons ensemble et en plus, un culot monstre, des accusations non fondées de "menaces" auprès de la réception et ainsi porter plainte contre moi... Tentative d'intimidation ? Le minimum du professionnalisme et du service clientèle aurait été de répondre dans la foulée, nous sommes en haute saison, l'établissement aurait pu remettre en réservation la chambre et ainsi me rembourser pour satisfaire le client et/ou éventuellement reporter les dates du séjour, aucune proposition à ce sujet... Juste un manque de savoir-vivre et irrespect en m'indiquant que quand je prends un billet de train ou d'avion, c'est la même chose pour une huit d'hôtel. Bref, établissement à éviter et fuir, une direction "à Paris" qui prend de haut ses clients... Je n'ai jamais eu ce type de comportement malgré mes nombreux séjours réguliers dans des hôtels dû à mon activité professionnelle. 207€ réglés pour aucun service et aucun geste commercial.
