The host of Chambres d'Hotes La Rive at Le Mont-Saint-Michel, Juliette, is a warm and helpful lady. Although she could only converse in basic English with us, she tried to suggest to us to go to the Mont for its night lights. The onsite parking at the Mont's visitor's car park is free of charge from 7pm to 2am.||There are free shuttle bus that can take visitors to the Mont. But we prefer to start walking from the B&B to the Mont. The weather was cool in early part of June and conducive for walking. We took pictures of the Mont with different foregrounds and from varying distances. It was great fun walking passed the countryside cottages, the farms & fields, the town centre of Mont-Saint-Michel and then slowly the Mont got bigger and bigger before our eyes as we walked on its linking paved bridge. There is a great view point of the Mont from the dam viewing deck in the town centre.||We stayed 2 nights in a triple room at the Chambres d'Hotes La Rive and we glad we did as we had adequate time to enjoy walking to the Mont, visiting the Abbey, watching people walking on the mud flat from a far distance to the Mont, and visiting the Mont again after night fell. Mont-Saint-Michel is magical day and night.||The room we had was very clean, looked new and came with a well-equipped spacious & modern shower room. The bed was comfortable. And our room window has a distant view of Mont Saint Michel. We loved waking up to birds chirping in the morning but never did we hear any noise from other guests who were also staying in the B&B at the same time.||Juliette's made breakfast for her guests at the B&B and what she served was good enough to fuel us for the walk to the Mont. There is ample place within the B&B's compound to provide us a safe parking space for our car. After the visit to the Mont, we could take a short drive out to nearby areas for some more views of...

Read moreIf I could give this little place 10 stars I would. We found this hotel at the last minute, the lady was so friendly and attentive with my family. Her place is BEAUTIFUL, I was not expecting a 2 bedroom suite with breakfast included for this price! We paid 100 euros for 4 people, we were able to comfortably sleep. To only "bad" thing is that I wasn't able to properly turn in the heaters and the rooms were a little cold but once we got under the cover we were comfortable. I speak a little french and I must thank the owner for being patient with me, her french was so clear and she made sure to speak slow (but not in a condescending way) so I could understand. When we checked in she asked me at what time we wanted to have breakfast and the next morning the table was beautifully set right at the time I told her. I 100% recommend this place if you are staying the night to visit Mont Saint Michel. In my opinion is best to stay out in the little towns than near the Mont, if you do you will pay at least 100 euros more.
Thank you for a...
