My boyfriend and I arrived at night, after having made a reservation by telephone earlier that day. When the man at the reception desk saw we carried backpacks, he pointed at some information on the desk about bedbugs. We understood that bedbugs are a problem for hotels and this is a problem in huts used by hikers. We explained we had not slept in these kind of huts, and we showed we carried our own tent. At first we thought we would have to leave our backpack in a locker etc. However, we were made to leave. It was 8 at night, already dark. We had just walked the 3 km from the train station and were quite tired and hungry. When we said to the man in was not a social thing to do, to send us away at that time, he got very unpleasant. A woman came and said she had asked me on the telephone if we had walked. The telephone conversation for reservating the hotel room was completely in French as English was not an option. I can somehow manage in French, but it is far from perfect. So when she asked if we walked, I thought she meant how we would go to the hotel, and explained we would travel by train from Ajaccio. It would have been really nice if they could manage to learn just one sentence in English. When we left, I shut the door hard, thereupon the man came running after us quite aggressively and screamed we had to go back to The Netherlands. Not really the type of person you would expect to work in a hotel.. Luckily we were able to find another place to stay - after walking the 3 km back to the city center. And this place proved that, fortunately, there are very friendly...
Read moreHotely Cyrnea was a welcome surprise.|It is a lovely little hotel with amazingly accommodating staff.|It is a two star hotel, largely due to an absence of an elevator and the lack of all night reception, regardless of this the rooms are nice, and spotlessly clean, with a cute blue and white colors, adding a maritime chick and refreshing the place. In addition to making the rooms seem breezier. We definitely recommend the room with a sea view as it provides for an excellent view, and sleeping with the sound of the waves hitting the beach is amazing.|The bathrooms are modern and fresh.||The gem of this hotel are the staff, whom are extremely kind and helpful. They have kept the hotel open for us until midnight to accommodate a late flight, in addition to changing the dates on our reservation for our last day of stay, and finding us a room, all free of charge (we mixed up the date for the last day). ||Warm recommendation for this place, for the price it...
Read moreWe found this little hotel by chance. We were just driving by and decided to pick one on our way. It is quite simple when you step in but clean, but what made it is a kind looking and welcoming Mrs Valerie. She made me decide that it's a good place without even looking at the room. The price was decent and the place look clean and had a closed garage. The rooms are simple but comfortable and clean. All you need is there. Looking at the pictures now, I see there are non of the beautiful garden that I found to my surprise in the morning. So I'm adding it here. It's a peaceful little place where you can simply enjoy nature and two little turtles:) and relax, and the best is that the beach is just a minute walk from a great garden. I couldn't have had it better. Thank you Valerie for the juice and croissant in the morning. You made our day. I will think of you when someone asks me where to...
