Read moreFor us we had a mixed stay. The welcome was lacking which for us is really important. You want to feel welcomed and able to approach the staff. Despite one lady being English I believe she didn't acknowledge us on arrival and her colleague sat furthest did . Its barrier entry and we couldn't get in, so had to park in the road whilst one went into to say hello ! ||The pitches are a mixed bag. Some are huge and others tiny. Ours was perfect to be honest. Hedging all around however no indication of where the electricity supply is. Eventually found it only for it to not work and a friendly fellow camper advised tried all the sockets as some dont work. You also need your adapter. We did actually move the power to another point a bit closer wen we spotted it day two. ||The facilities are ok. Sadly for our trip not clean, which is not the campsite but the campers. Would you leave your own toilet like that ! The showers where ok, hot . Toilet roll often ran out. No hand dryers , not a deal breaker but it is the norm now a days. ||A large area for washing up , good washing machines and dryer. |Hilariously daily loud speaker announcements tell you about the food truck coming and what it is , i.e. burgers or Mexican etc ||The fresh water situation was a bit odd. We found one tap on a corner which for us wasn't bad but if you had a big campervan would have been interesting. ||Now the positives, free access tot he fabulous swimming complex through the gate. Brilliant and so welcoming after a long day. ||Location. 5 mins cycle into central Bayeux . Maybe 10 mins walk. Just great. Direct access to the greenway cycle routes through Bayeux and out to the coast. Carrefour hypermarket 5 mins away. ||If your are intersted in the D Day tours , all within easy reach by...

Toilet block was clean and good warm showers also plenty of undercover washing up points. Fresh baguettes can be ordered from reception for collection each morning. There are no super pitches so be prepared to fill up your aquaroll but that is no issue. Electric supply is uk and continental plugs but be aware it is 6amp capacity so best to boil a kettle or use a camping kettle and we set our tourer to 1000w and had no issues.
The town swimming pool next door is available free of charge as a camper and is accessable through a camp site gate. You can also walk into Bayeux down the road through that gate and swimming pool at night or take the scenic walk along the river path that runs along side the camp site. Bayeux is a beautiful town and an easy 15 -20 minute walk into the centre.
We traveled from Cherburg and it was only just over an hours drive to the campsite and such an easy drive, a word of warning the entrance to the camp site is off the main road Sat Nav directs you to the swimming pool, don't turn right carry on for about 300 metres and turn right into the site. There is a nice wine warehouse almost opposite the camp site on the right and a good Carrefour supermarket 2 minutes from the site.
This camp site is a superb location if doing the D Day landing sites and I would suggest a day in Bayeux looking at the Tapestry - Cathedral and the Normandy Landing Museum and Cemetry, a good way to start your visit.
Summing up - this camp site is a gem and you should not be...
