Great site! Excellent facilities, perfect location, very clean and well maintained, friendly and relaxed atmosphere but with plenty going on, not overcrowded. Pros: The site is not too busy but with lots going on for all the family. Facilities for families were great. The e-bikes were so much fun, you are right on a coastal path and they are very easy to use and comfortable. You need a phone each to hire the bikes though as you have to download the App and it only allows you to hire one bike at a time. Location was perfect for exploring all the beaches and D-Day tourist sites, we couldn’t cram it all into one week so you defo won’t be bored! The walk down to the beach was so nice, the beach wasn’t too busy or commercialised. The local shop (Cocci Market) has everything you need but I would recommend going into Bayeux for a bigger supermarket. Toilet and shower facilities were cleaned multiple times a day, never had any issues with waiting for showers, although I would take some toilet roll as this can sometimes run out. All staff with helpful and friendly. Pitch was a good size although the ground was a bit stoney so struggled to peg the tent in some parts. Cons: The opening hours of the crepe bar and snack bar/burger van were not great, considering we visited in high season I thought they would be open more often and for longer periods. The restaurant experience and food was good, but I feel the set up of the bar could be better. We struggled to go to the bar for just drinks because it’s all in the same place and diners were prioritised. I wish we could have just popped in for a drink in the evening but this was not possible. The games room and laundrette require euro coins but the shop/restaurant/reception rarely had any coins for you to change your notes so we ended up going to the local shop (Cocci Market) to get change which wasn’t ideal.

Read moreSadly we felt very disappointed with our 5 night stay at the campsite. The location was great with easy access to Omaha beach and a central base to visit the other DDay landing beaches. This is a huge site with hundreds of pitches close together, there are plenty of play areas for children. If you want a quiet peaceful campsite this isn't the campsite for you..or us. We were disappointed with the campsite itself. We paid for the seaview pitch but hadn't realised there are 4 rows of seaview pitches..ours was on the back row overlooking 3 rows of tents and large motorhomes. Each time l visited the showers they were icy cold,my children occasionally had better luck though. The toilet block close to our pitch frequently had no toilet roll in the dispensers so queues gathered outside the few toilets that did have paper. However the most worrying aspect was the hygiene of the motorhome point. The toilet disposal area is immediately infront of the drinking water hose pipe...literally a few centimetres away. The drinking water hose was more often than not left on the grass beside the toilet waste grate! Several times that l was trying to get fresh water someone came and emptied their toilet waste directly Infront of me at the same time, splashing directly onto me once! This is SO unhygienic and a health hazard. The shop is very basic,it has no fresh fruit or vegetables at all...there is a small shop in the village that we used daily. The only recycling point is near to reception which is disappointing for such a huge campsite, meaning that the general bins around the site were full of plastic bottles and other recyclable waste..a great shame. This was the most expensive of all the 4 campsites we stayed at by far,but sadly the most...
Read moreThe location is excellent for visiting D Day landing locations, war graves and museums. The shower facilities are relatively clean, but the system is ridiculous. You are issued with a tag to operate the shower, which if you are lucky enough to get a tag that works, only supplies water for seven minutes. This is totally useless for anyone with longer hair. My husband and I both had tags that didn’t work. Mine worked once, then failed. I took it back and the lady told me I still had one shower allocation left on it and to try for longer, still didn’t work. My husband took his back and it was replaced with another that didn’t work. I had to wash my hair in the hand basin. My husband was given a replacement tag that also didn’t work. It’s unacceptable to undress for a shower, then have to dress again when it doesn’t work. Luckily I found a cubicle where the tag system seemed to have been disabled, so used that on subsequent days. There is also a notice on both of the toilet/shower facilities stating they are closed between 10am and 12.30pm for cleaning (other times in the day too). They aren’t actually both shut for that length of time, or at the same time so it’s pot luck if you get the timing right. Why they don’t put different times on the two different shower blocks is a mystery. Another issue is water points. They are very few and far between. Great site if you have children with you, and if you are happy to put up with these problems. However, if you don’t like the holiday camp vibe best not to visit in...
