Stayed here for a week. When we arrived we were allocated a pitch right at the end of the site but it wasn't suitable as it had no water or electricity nearby which we needed. We found another pitch that was suitable and we were told we could have that one - even let us spill out onto a second pitch next door which was great to put the car and trailer. They don't speak a great deal of English but we got by. There is a Super U nearby and we visited Chateauneuf which is a quaint little town and also Chateau Commarin. Spent a day in Semur en Auxious which is a medieval town worth a visit. It is quiet at night so peaceful. Most people seem to use this as a stop over whilst cycling the Borgogne river. We had a few over nighters on the pitch in front of us. The main criticism is the lack of electricity and water points available on pitches. One couple opposite us had to plus into the socket behind us and trail an extension lead across two pitches and across the road to get to their pitch. There appears to be no electricity or water on the pitches on the left hand as you go into the site so beware if you do need these facilities. We had a dog which we walked but noticed that there was some mess just outside the campsite near reception which was a little off putting. We always picked up after ours.||Summary. We had a good stay because of our pitch. If we had not been able to have direct access to electricity and water we would have had to move on. If I were cycling the route this is a great stop over as right next...
Read moreOn arrival at 8p.m., we found reception in the dark, but -given that we had been emailed the number of our allocated pitch- we thought we better find it as it was going dark. Most numbers had been knocked down, so it was a rush against darkness. But then just like in a horror film, an angry face popped up next to the camper window and starred in with utter hostility. ||It turned out to be the campsite owner, who hissed that we had to come back to the reception (helped once he had turned the lights on). The welcome and checking in procedure had all the warmth and friendliness of an interrogation room of a communist country's border crossing. ||He made us pay for the stay up front, and -had we known what was to come- we wouldn't have stayed. The advertised heated pool was covered (it was 25 degrees during the day) and not in use, the bar and take away never opened, the advertised half-board service didn't exist and when I enquired whether it was too late in the evening to order the breakfast service he advertises for the next morning, I got a rude "go into town and buy it yourself" in fast, mumbled...
Read moreStayed here for a couple of nights in early May to visit Beaune and Dijon whilst travelling south. It is a small site located next to the Burgundy Canal and just on the edge of the village. The swimming pool was just being prepared for opening and the café/takeaway was just opening so cannot comment on those as we did not use them but both did look very attractive.||The toilet and showers facilities were clean and modern.||In all excellent facilities are provided given the size of the site.||We found the owner to be a very pleasant and accommodating man so I was surprised to read a review which found him unwelcoming and intimidating.||The site is green and pleasant with open views onto the countryside.||Very convenient for the AutoRoute and there is a supermarket just down the road so good for a stopover too.||I would have liked to have visited in warmer weather so we may stop by again if...
