We prefer quiet campsites, not being overly concerned about masses of fancy facilities that we would pay a fortune per night for and wouldn't use. We also love being within walking distance of a pretty town or village for a drink and maybe some food in the evening. This site presses all of those buttons for us plus a few more for a very low fee per night's stay. We stayed in our caravan on one if the small nu.bers of pitches, all with electricity, but there are also static caravans for hire which look perfectly good too.|The campsite is small and quiet and within 200 metres of Cadouin Abbey and bars and restaurants. The plus is that there is a lovely swimming pool available plus small bar. The news owners are working really hard to make a success of their new venture. Credit to them. In terms of value-for-money it is...
Read moreLes Jardins de l’Abbaye is not really a garden, but a campground on a grassy terraced hillside with trees. Helpful staff checked me in and gave a cyclist discount. Read moreThis is a lovely little spot - a small campsite with about 25 very sweet mobile homes. The accommodation was clean and well equipped, the couple that run it are very friendly and helpful (and also speak English) and It's set in the trees so there is plenty of shade when the weather gets hotter. The site is just a couple of minutes walk from L'Abbaye which is the centre of the stunning town of Cadouin - this was our first visit to this area and we were totally charmed by it. The cabin we stayed in was a Mobilhome Confort 1/2 person - it's certainly compact and bijou but frankly we're past staying in a tent and having privacy, a toilet and hot shower has become a luxury we can't do without. Highly recommend if you're looking for budget accommodation a step up from a tent in this...
