We stayed here during our TMB hike. You get an incredible view of the mountains (including Mont Blanc!) from this place. Overall the stay was fine, the views were stunning, and the food was good. There were hot showers and toilets indoors. We didn't have an outlet in our private room, though there were outlets in the dining area. I quite liked the food! For dinner we had a salad to start, followed by a tasty potato cheese bake with ham, followed by a choice of dessert (highly recommend the chocolate mousse). In the morning, we awoke to the smell of croissants, which were definitely the highlight of breakfast. There was also bread and jam and cereal available.

When I saw that the hut was right next to the top station of a cable car, I was afraid that there would be a lot of hustle and bustle, just like on the previous TMB stage past Lac Blanc. But the opposite was the case. There was a cosy atmosphere, a fantastic view of the mountains and the food was one of the best on the whole TMB. We had beds in a large dormitory, but it was quite spacious and we had a good night's sleep. Important note: The water from the tap is not drinkable, as in the other huts nearby. Free drinking water was provided for overnight guests.

rating for refuge + dinner breakfast experience the decker bed we got was stuffy and smelly (maybe becoz it allows hikers to bring their bags up) dinner was simple but full, salad, main (in the photo), cheese, and dessert in the morning all had to queue up for breakfast as they served people one by one and limited it to just one croissant, one coffee/tea, and one juice, on top of some cereals and granolas, different from other self served all-you-can-eat-ish refuge breakfasts the view was great and hot water bath was hot (and at times too hot, unstable)

DO NOT TRUST THE PUBLIC FOOD STORAGE, OUR LUNCHES WERE STOLE

Good refuge/service/food, but there are THIEVES who stay here. You need to keep your food in a common area, and when we woke up our lunches had STOLEN. Specifically, somebody opened our lunch bags and took almost everything (except for my hardboiled egg - they stole my sandwiches, apple, and tomato). You can tell it's not a mistake because (1) they had to open my lunch bag to take things from it, and (2) they left my egg + didn't take the whole bag, so they did not mistake it for theirs.

Our only option was to buy new packed lunches from the refuge for 12€ each, which thankfully we could do... But a bit unfortunate considering we already paid for and brought...

We stayed one night when there were a lot of kids also staying at the refuge (it is close to a gondola). The house is old and you could hear everything so it got very loud and busy with all the kids having fun running up the stairs. The top floor is one big dormitory so if you are unlucky (as our dinner company) you share a room with ~40 kids.

The atmosphere is cosy and there is a nice big area to hang out in.

The dinner was very tasty, but not enough and buying more is expensive. Same with breakfast, not enough. As a gluten-free person, I found that they always had good knowledge.

The staff is great!

We would not go back again if we could plan around it, but it's not necessarily a...
