Firstly my reviews are fair, honest and in my own opinion. This particular post I'll comment both on the main site and the motorhome facility. I stayed at yelloh for two nights July 24 with my wife. We were traveling to San Sebastian in a motorhome so this for us was a pleasant stop over. The site reception is friendly, helpful and explained everything pretty well. There is a supermarket, restaurant / bar, mobile fast food stand and laundry which all are well maintained. The swimming pool area is clean with life guard supervision. This is a fantastic spot for a family with children as all were enjoying the activities. Little ducks would also walk around the site interacting with holiday makers which is nice. The location is close to Bordeaux 8km with cycling routes and public transport if desired. Being a fairly experienced traveller I would say the motorhome facility could be improved. Being asked to pay for water and emptying/ rinsing of your toilet cassette is a very cheap shot. Being a business owner myself I would include that particular cost within the overall fee of the booking. I paid 78 euros for two nights which is reasonable for what you get here. Yes I know it's only 5 euros for one fill but more the principal. It's borderline insulting. The motorhome pitches are reasonably spaced however in need of maintenance. Sanitary / showering facilities for the camping area I found good , plentiful and in clean condition. Overall I would recommend this site and had a pleasant, enjoyable stay. 5 stars 👍

We stayed as a campervan for two nights, 31 Aug - 2 Sept, so I understand that we were at the end of the season. The reception and shop were both sufficient for the usual bakery and produce, with nice staff. The location for accessing bordeux, amazing, either 20mins walk to the tram or the local bus from the entrance to the site (doesn't run on Sun). The site was probably only partially full, the small kids pool was not open however the larger (not large) pool was OK, not guarded as suggested, but again maybe because we were at the end of the season and wasn't too busy. The pitch was flat, sandy and again fine as were the ablutions, not overcrowded at this time at all. However, come the 1 Sept, everything ceased to be, the resturant, which was excellent (little pricy avg €24-30) the day before was then closed, the roti chicken placard was not on offer at all and there was no suggestion as to why, and the snack bar decided to only offer the pizza cheese option, much to everyone's annoyance. Rather than take the menu down, the poor lad had to then explain the only option to every visiting customer. There was no signs to suggest the main restaurant would be closed either. The noise from the road come Monday was excessive, and just as well we were leaving. In essence, it's a camping chain, looked great for kids in the season, and just about suitable for couples with the amazing access to Bordeux - if you're not visiting the city I'd give it a miss.

This was a site that we had reservations about attending after reading some of the reviews. However, we have just spent two nights there and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We opted for a small cabin rather than our own campervan following a few days of wild camping. This was the right choice for us. The cabin was further away from the road noise spoken about by others in reviews but I hasten to add that should you wish complete peace and tranquility then perhaps a city camping site is not the place to attend! We arrived wishing to change our booked reservation and the reception staff were amazingly helpful and kind. The camping village was quiet for our stay but we could easily see how this might change in the height of the season. Transport links into Bordeaux were easy to navigate and tickets could be purchased at reception. When wandering around the village we did notice the disparity in some of the camping pitches and they looked quite uneven surfaces. There was also one 'indoor' toilet block which appeared far nicer than the facilities on the other side of the village. Depending on your preferences, you may find one side more to your liking than the other. Overall, we would return and we enjoyed our stay very much.

Real shame about this campsite as we have stayed in many Yelloh! Sites and really rate them.

Reception were great and very friendly. The pitch was as stated size wise but the condition of the pitch was poor, there was no grass or sand, just stones.

Internet connection was poor if that matters to you. Toilets were busy and not cleaned enough for the size of the site so they were often dirty.

The lifeguard at the pool was very lovely and the pool was clean. It was quiet when we went but the pool did seem to be quite small which Mont be a problem in better weather.

Location is good for Bordeaux and lots of lovely cycling around for families but no cycle hire at the campsite (public electric bikes are available just outside).

There were no evening activities at all and we couldn’t find the kids club. The shop is well stocked and reasonable.

We had a really awful experience at the restaurant. It started badly with a 20 min wait to give our drinks order and it took another 30 mins for our stater (which was cold cuts meat and cheese platter) which was served without bread or even side plates.

45 mins after our starter was removed our mains appeared. During that time no one asked if we’d like another drink. Unfortunately there was just one (pleasant and hardworking) staff taking orders for around 50 covers.

I had the duck burger which was too salty and I was only able to eat half, my husband had a salad which was misrepresented on the menu and was mainly a pasta dish. My father ordered beef, medium to well done but it came out rare. He asked for it to be cooked a little more but for some reason the manager refused to cook it longer.

Because of this, he asked them to take it away as he was unable to eat it which they did. When the bill came they refused to remove it from the bill and did not seem at all concerned with any level of customer service.

The manager eventually relented - removing the meal from the bill only after her threats to call the police was met with us saying “ok, we will wait and explain it to them.” She then angrily agreed to remove it and told us we are never allowed to return. Such drama. It would have been much easier to stick the steak back on the grill for a few minutes!

A shame as the restaurant is in a good location on the site and we’d been looking forward to the meal on our last night as it does...

Stayed for the first time as a 2 night stop over on the way back to UK. Great proximity to the centre of Bordeaux. Pitches not great, some were very waterlogged and unusable. Not all level. Shop isn't greatly stocked but put that down to the time of year. The price is very expensive for what is on offer. Showers were cold/tepid on the first morning, hot on the second, washing up sinks all leak so the floor is constantly wet, the cleaners do an adequate job but they start at 8 or 8.30 when everyone is getting up and wants a shower or the loo. This might have something to do with the lack of hot water as they use lashings of hot water to scrub the floors. They also like to open all the doors when cleaning which in January when you have a morning frost isn't really acceptable. I did speak to one of the cleaners and tried to explain this, I think they got it as they kept it shut. We were parked close to some of the lodges/bungalows that are hired out. These were hired out to workers, they made an awful lot of noise very late at night, we called the night watchman and he went to see them but unfortunately it just made them louder and then they got up at 5am and started again until they left at around 6.30. We would suggest putting workers in a place not near campers. When staying on a site we normally feel safe and secure but we did not feel safe or secure here. On the first night we were there no outside lighting whatsoever, not sure if someone said anything to them as the second night we did have lighting. I doubt very much that we will ever stay again. The site itself could do with upgrading it's facilities and to repair or replace some of the broken ones. What is also shocking is the extra charge for water to wash out your toilet cassette. The waste drains are so far away from everything, you expect these to be near the services, and obviously your first thought when disposing of your toilet waste is that I must take extra change for water. Absolutely outrageous when it is over 25€ a night to stay. At least Dick Turpin wore a mask!! Very...

cosy accomodation ruined by the lack of management of the site My stay inside the accommodation was acceptable. But the outside, and the whole camping site has not been managed, with weeds and overhanging trees above the accommodations. Given the stormy, rainy weather during the whole of my 12 day stay, and being kept awake by the flying branches etc against the tin roof, and sides of my chalet, meant I could not get any sleep, leaving me exhausted every day. This defeated the purpose of my holiday; to have gained some peace, and much needed rest from my stressful, busy life. The shop is well overpriced, the restaurant as well, so I was unable to eat there, plus the vegetarian options were extremely limited. I nearly cut my finger off when a knife broke off in my hand simply cutting some cheese. No "normal" knives were supplied at first, until one was replaced with something I recognised as a normal knife. The sheets, and pillowcases were god awful, as they were merely thin covers, they kept making the pillows slip from under my head, and as I have neck problems, was problematic. On the positive side; the heating was exceptional, the chalet was clean, and aside from the branches and debris hitting against the chalet every day, all night due to the bad weather, it was peaceful, quiet on the site. I discovered a lovely nature reserve within walking distance, so the area outwith Yelloh site is lovely, albeit it a very busy, noisy road. The leaving day; a nice touch was the man who checked the chalet, which I have to say was many hours of work for me, and just as I had another 2 travel days back to Scotland, adding to my stress and tiredness, gave my son, I a lift up...
