We stayed here for two nights only before catching the ferry from Calais.||Pitch, 13.50 euros per night (27 euros} was acceptable but add to that 1.60 euros per token for a warm shower, (two each 6.40 euros) electricity 4.00 euros per night (8.00 euros) we use electricity for lighting only. ||When explaining to the lady that this was the first time in eight weeks of touring France and Spain that there had been extra charges for taking a shower, she replied. "Water is expensive here" (So why are cold showers free?)||The free wifi they offer is more often down than up and can only be reached if lucky (And we were not) if you join the kids and their music just outside the reception office.|| As it was holiday weekend, the site was busy and the area teaming with visitors but there was no shop and the bar was being used to garage machinery instead of it's advertised purpose.|| The pitch was a fair size but with it's low hedges offered no privacy and the grass was so long we had to trample it down before we could lay the awning groundsheet.||The beach is a long downhill walk from the site and a big disappointment when arriving. I would certainly not take my grandchildren to play on those slippery tidal rocks but as I will not entertain the thought of returning to Camping L Eglantier, happily it is a disappointment they wont...
Read moreLooking for a quiet campsite after driving north all day, we reached the coast near Boulogne. At the end of August, many campsites here are busy and noisy and the reception buildings are closed after 7pm- so no good for tired, hot and hungry late arrivals! ||L'Eglantier however welcomed us in and let us pitch up straight away, looking at our passports quickly and explaining where everything was, even though the office was closed when we arrived. Madame could not have been friendlier. The campsite and facilities are clean and quiet. Very near to the beach for a morning walk and we noticed the beach is great for dogs here too- something to remember for next time when we bring our two as the beach near Calais doesn't allow dogs. The hot showers need tokens but for a quick overnight stay, we didn't mind. There are lots of 'lavabo' with hot water, washing machines and lots of pot washing sinks. We were prepared with food with us for our late night meal. We will definitely come here again next time we are needing a site...
Read moreI usually don’t write reviews bcs holidays shouldn’t depend on the campground you are staying at. Anyway…This Caravan park is really cozy and quiet. the people here are friendly and there was no drama at all. But there are things to say about the restroom…. The Toilets don’t have toilet paper, the sinks don’t have soap. you can start to shower with a coin you get from the reception. As soon you put it in you can push the button and water will flow for a couple seconds. The Water is in the beginn very hot, i guess for many people to hot, and over time its getting colder and colder. So you gotta be wise in washing yourself, otherwise the relaxing shower will be a horrible shower. The restrooms are really the only thing to criticise though! Well Maybe the coverage of the free wifi is a joke…only at reception/the bar.
The reason why I‘m writing that review is to say…the receptionist is...
