The most expensive campsite we have stayed at in France. Over 90 Euro for two nights in a campervan. This was mainly because of the two sets of ‘tax’ that were applied to our bill and the 15 euro ‘booking fee’ that was also applied. This is was the only site that has done this, certainly on this and our last 3 holidays in France. And I don’t remember it ever mentioned when I booked, although I had booked the site many months in advance! The site itself is small and compact with well segregated pitches and plenty of trees. The facilities are old but clean. The pool small and very busy when we were there.
An interesting response from the owner to what I thought was a measured and objective review. As they decided to personally attack me I think I should expand on my original review for clarity; We cancelled our reservation with you a month before we were due to stay because of my wife’s cancer diagnosis. ‘Last moment’ is of course a subjective term. They did compassionately ‘hold’ our deposit, after we provided them with the requested doctor’s certificate. All other campsites we had booked on the same trip in 2023 were happy to refund us all payments, without supplying a doctor’s certificate, and we rebooked them in 2024, when she had undergone her treatment. By “negotiate your nights” I think they are referring to when I mentioned we would only be staying one night instead of the two we had booked and they emphasised that we would have to still pay for two, which I perfectly understood. I really don’t understand the strange comment about “jumping everywhere in front of the eyes of frightened customers”. It just didn’t happen. My “abhorrent behaviour” must surely relate to the conversation I had the next morning, where I had the nerve to question the inconsistency between the tariff board and what we had been charged. This clearly angered them. I was finally provided me with a printed receipt after repeated asking, which made some sense of the 91euro opposed to the 70euro I thought we should have paid. Maybe I should have just asked for some greater transparency in the pricing. We were not 4 people and a dog, we were a couple a child and a dog. But I think they know this. I hope people will find this expansion on my original review useful if not...
Read moreA fairly basic site on a slope, some pitches were reasonably level. The entrance road to the site was in a state of disrepair. The site has a bar/snack area and a pool although we didn’t find it. It was early season so it would have been closed. We had a hard standing pitch close to the facilities. Old sanitaire had a refurbished section at the top of the hill. Wash up and laundry areas were under shelter. The toilets and showers were clean. There were steps to the washing up area and lower part of the sanitaire which was not lit at night. The site was okay for a stopover on our way south but not one we...
