Manoir de Puyval — Hotel in Chalon-sur-Saône

We are leaving Manoir de Puyval today with the heaviest hearts after a most magical two weeks. It is our second stay and this beautiful home is a haven of comfort and tranquility in the heart of Burgundy. Sigrid and her husband always go above and beyond to make sure we all have a great time and they have a fantastic knowledge of the local area; from the best restaurants, to Brocantes markets and wineries. The kitchen is the most well equipped we have ever stayed in, and as keen cooks we enjoyed setting the majestic dining room for dinner each night. The BBQ is also brand new and superb. The beds and bedrooms are incredibly comfortable and luxurious, and all the bathrooms are wonderful - we loved the added touch of Nuxe products in the showers. Very generous. The house is positioned next to fantastic cycle routes along the canal, and short walking distance to the local shop and Boulangerie. Thank you so much Sigrid for another amazing experience. Burgundy is very special and we hope to see you...

Beautiful and comfortable house, as well as the garden / pool.

Much less positive experience of dealing with the owners, however – who have unlawfully and arbitrarily declared that they would retain part of the security deposit, then stopped answering emails and returned some of the deposit three weeks later only. Dishonestly asserting we broke the oven handle, and that the cutlery wasn't stored in the original way and therefore extra money would be charged - whereas there are NO instructions available in the house. We regret not going through Airbnb – this would have never happened – as Airbnb ensures the law is followed. Also lack of responding is simply disrespectful and rude. Luckily one person from our group is a lawyer so we will be taking legal action against the unlawful retaining of part of the deposit; but sharing this word of caution for any...

Le Manoir de Puyval is a marvellous hidden gem in the Burgundy village of Rully with warm and welcoming hosts Sigrid and Juan ... we enjoyed our second successive multi-generational family holiday there this year and loved every minute ... we've rebooked for next year too !! ... super kitchen, dining, living, games rooms and great bedrooms with ensuite's ... fabulous pool and undercover outside kitchen in large quiet gardens next to the vineyards ... can't recommend...
