If you want to see something, you will find the Savière Canal (Chanaz), the beach of Conjux, the Monin winery and the Bugiste wine cellar.||||Everything was outstanding at the Chateau de la mar. The managers of the property (Pierre and Elodie) were very attentive and made sure that we had a great stay. Her "care" included the wine tasting in the cave, the wonderfully prepared dinners and the detailed excursion tips. Everything was in fair value for money.||||Our suite was furnished with well-chosen antiques and very comfortable beds. Read moreThis was a classy and unique find -- a castle set in beautiful quiet rolling hills reminiscent of Tuscany, yet so close to Aix-les-Bains. The castle has been magnificently restored by the owner over 10 years, and the five or so bedrooms are all totally different and beautifully appointed. The swimming pool in the castle grounds is so relaxing and a very decent size, I spent the whole day by the pool with noone in sight, it was heavenly. There is no restaurant on-site, but some nice options in nearby villages, and a Michelin star restaurant up the road. The breakfast was ok -- it could be improved with some additional choices, fruit salad and boiled eggs for example: for those who are lactose and gluten intolerant, bread and cheese is just not satisfactory for breakfast in this day and age... Other niggle is the plastic cover over the mattress which is not acceptable for the prices paid...
