Hôtel Logis des Saveurs — Hotel in Confolens

Small town hotel very convenient for visiting the Charente area of France being close to Angouleme and just 1 hour from Limoges Airport. The hotel has large rooms, well equipped and furnished. The bed was a standard double so a little smaller than I am used to but the matress and pillows were comfortable and very clean. Free WiFi / internet access was available on request. Not a hotel with a view but that wasn't a problem for us. We had a nice fresh breakfast each day. Conveniently located in Chassneuil-sur-Bonnierre in the centre of this small town. Car parking next to the hotel. There is a supermarket across the road and several typical French shops in the main street. The hotel staff were very friendly and our reception was nice. This review only pertains to the restaurant. We did not stay. You are not spoiled for choice in this area so we were all keen to try a new place. Money has been spent on the décor but the dining room has no atmosphere at all. The single diners who were staying a the hotel, were all seated facing our table... and they stared at us all through dinner. There is music playing but it couldn't be heard really. ||The table setting was nice, menu read very well and the cutlery/dishes were quite unusual BUT the woman serving us was barely civil! I have long wanted to visit this Restaurant, now I wish that I had sooner. I visited for Lunch and was greeted with a smile and welcome. Staff throughout my visit were extremely attentive but not intrusive. Exactly how waiting-staff should be; extremely Professional. The Menu has an expansive choice; everyone should be able to find something to taste and/or price.
