Stayed 2 weeks here last week August, first week of September/. Campsite was generally peaceful, suited young families and oldies like us perfectly. Chalet was very clean and comfortable, well equipped and the sea view was to die for! Beautiful sunsets every night from our terrace or the bar. Entertainment was only on for the first week, which we knew about, the blues band were fabulous. Had a takeaway pizza from the bar a couple of times which was good as none of the chalets have ovens. We had a premium chalet which was very secluded and private, worth the extra cost. Not a huge amount of storage space, so I'm glad we booked a 2 bed chalet and could use the extra bedroom for suitcases and storing some clothes etc, a 2 week stay involves a lot of stuff for us! We did use the laundrette on site and noticed there was a small bath in there suitable for kids, which is handy as it's showers in the chalets themselves which I know some little ones don't like. The area was great, St Cast had the essentials and a lovely beach, we ventured about an hour each way to St Malo -use the park and ride at Paul Fevel, and st Brieuc , some lovely beaches and spectacular sights along the coastline . Would definitely...
Read moreThe campsite is in a beautiful location, with well maintained pitches overlooking the sea and a short walk to a beautiful beach. The facilities are not so good. The main toilet block is very dated, showers look like they are from the 70's and while the toilets are clean with toilet roll and seat, there was NO SOAP! All the dispenses remained empty even after notifying reception x2. In my opinion not very hygienic as located next to the bar & snack bar. The excuse, they forgot and it would be resolved in a few days! Other smaller blocks did have soap, some a little more modern but still not what I would expect for a campsite that claims to be 5 star. The bar area is nice, stunning views, but the lack of a restaurant serving decent food is disappointing. The snack bar serves ready-made pizzas and burgers again not 5 star standards. There is a small shop for basic provisions. We would recommend the site for the location and views, but don't expect 5 star facilities. Make sure you bring your own food or walk into town, which is roughly a 30 min walk, for more choice. We have stayed at the Romanee site in Ars-en-Re which has much better...
Read moreWarning: the fitness equipment is old, very old. With the push en press machine, you press yourself up. The others machines are all cardio and they suck too.
This camping does things right, but also many wrong. I will start with the bad and end with the goods. Firstly, all camp sites are packed up against each other. So chances are that you will be surrounded by others. This brings another, rather small problem, manoeuvring your car can be difficult. Secondly, the toilets are all old. There is 1 main building with a lot of toilets, showers and sinks, while the other side of the camping has only 1 very small building.
Now the goods. Firstly, the view on most camp sites is amazing (sea, cliffs and mussel beds and much more). Secondly, the swimming pool is beautiful. It is a weird combo of indoor and outdoor, while keeping the water temperature high. Lastly, the location is awesome. You can take a long hike along the cost, starting from the camping. There is a huge market and a lot of activities nearby.
To summarise, there are a lot of small things that make the camp experience a less fun, but most of them won't spoil...
