Camping Les Acacias — Hotel in District of Dax

One of our most favourite sites in France. Small to medium sized, family run with mix of statics, camping and tourers. We try to visit for a few days every year. Few sites anywhere have the friendly relaxed atmosphere of Les Acacias and for 2015, the toilets, showers etc have been updated to an even higher standard than before. Well worth a visit to this friendly and relaxing site. The beach and nearest village are walkable if you are enthusiastic but cycling is the best option. There are visiting food stalls most evenings for Pizza, Moules etc and fresh bread delivered each morning. Nearest bar and restaurant is a five minute walk along the road at the next camp site but food is quite expensive. Lots of choice in Vieux Boucau though. Free WiFi is slowing down as mobile internet...

A nicely run, medium sized campsite with well laid out pitches with many separated by small hedges to separate each from the next. The mixed washrooms were excellent, very clean with lashings of hot water. ||However, this campsite is not as close to the beach as the pictures suggest, is a little remote with only one close restaurant off site for meals (which was closed when the restaurant website said it was open!) but luckily when I stayed there was a local vendor selling fresh “Moulles or duck kebabs and frittes” by the office (which were excellent!) but just in case I’d suggest you make sure you bring something for lunch/dinner with you!||In summary I’d be very happy to return but would make sure my fridge was full...

We stayed here for two weeks last year and really enjoyed it. The site is close to the cycling tracks and within easy cycling reach of the beach; a very reasonable supermarket and local restaurants. The site has upgraded its facilities over last winter so our two week stay this year was even better. Pitches vary, so study the map. Last year we were 'in the thick of it' right in the middle, which was quite a busy place, but whilst there in 2014 we booked our choice for this year and have just returned from a wonderfully quiet, undisturbed time - that said, other campers are friendly, but won't interfere or foist themselves upon you! It's a great, relaxed site, ideally suited to those who want to do...
