Where do I start?. The staff on reception tht I encountered where to two extremes either v helpful or downright rude. I asked about the free bus service the day before planning on going however wasnt advised that the 30th Aug was the last day it ran so went to reception followign day as advised to be told "It is now September" there is no bus ". What they didnt add was infact a bus ran from the stop at the end of the road until 3rd Sep. I found the lady that worked in the restaurant ery rude and in fact was blamed for attending at breakfast and not paying !!! I was very insuted at this and told reception who advised me they would look into this. ||||However the final nail in the coffin was when I received an email from reception telling me they were charging me 95 euro for not leaving the villa clean ?!!. I was astounded at this. Yes admittedly I left a small childs cereal bowl out unwashed (Id forgotten about this) and yes I hadnt put away the WASHED dishes as was witing for them to dry on the drainer. I had forgotten to throw out the three yoghurts that were in the fridge and apparetently I had not "MOPPED" THE FLOOR. I explained that I had in fact left the villa clean but was advised that it was in my terms and conditions that I should have MOPPED the floor!!!. With the leaves and pine cones and dirt outside the camp it was incredibly difficult to keep the floor clean but it was regulary brushed and clean to an acceptable standard. I also advised them that I was not supplied by any cleaning prouducts except for one bin bag for a small bin for an 8 day stay ?!. ||I explained that I had left a few items such as washing liquid and washing powder as thought the next person would benefit from this but they dont seem to appreciate this. I am disgusted at their lack of co-operation. ||||The prices in the restaurant are horrendous I paid 1 Euro for tagliatelle naturelle and was shocked to be served a plain bowl of pasta when I requested a little sauce for the pasta the blonde lady with glasses tutted at me and finally returned with a bowl of gruyerre cheese. ||||I was made feel that I was asking for the impossible at reception Ie I asked a very unhelpful receptionist could she recommend a taxi for me and she replied "why would I book a taxi to come here it is pointless as they have to come from the other direction " so I actually walked into the Vieux Boceaux travel agency who gladly helped me with my travel arrangements. ||||A bitter experience overall, To have already have paid over the top prices then to be charged a further fee for a few minor details is...
Read moreWe came from Ireland and spent 3 weeks on the site, booking with Eurocamp. The entertainment staff, the pool staff , reception and the bar staff are all very friendly, welcoming and we really enjoyed their input.||The thing is, this is really a French site, mostly occupied by French and Spanish visitors.. you won't hear very many English speaking quests, which can be somewhat off putting at times. Other eurocamp sites tend to have more British and Irish visitors. Having said that we went in May, and the place was empty.||There is a lovely pool and sports area, as well as a small play park beside the restaurant bar..My only concern is that during busy periods it may be too small for children. There is only one swing for children beside the bar and two down in the main sports field, some of the other equipment, the 3 table tennis tables etc are quite worn, and again I would suggest busy and well used during peak periods. But in general the park is very clean and well maintained.. I simply would not like to see it packed.||We had great fun at the Petanque and the entertainment staff work hard to make your stay pleasant. Plenty of local markets, beaches and a good Carrefour close by. Fantastic cycle forest/country lanes and bike hire available.||I would recommend it, but as I said, we went in May....and I don't know about later in high season. ||You must park next to the campsite and cross a bridge to get in, my knees and back struggled with that. Cars are only allowed in the park when bringing in or moving out your stuff, so be prepared for that if you have mobility issues. ||So yes I would recommend it, but is it a 5 star camp site as advertised... ? ...ehh no. This is why I give it 4 stars here, that alongside the lack of children's play equipment which I am sure there would be queue's for come busy periods. But thumbs up to all the staff and a clean park (The camping showers and toilets are...
Read moreThe pool area is great (pool bar drinks & ice cream only not alot of selection) shower block is clean, this is all i can say I'm afraid. This was the noisiest site we have ever been on, banging & shouting all through the night. Nobody had any consideration for families sleeping & we had a load of noisy teenagers next to us that partied until 5am. The actual pitch was terrible, no water waste just an electric hook up hung over a tree! I will attach a photo because honestly its shocking. If you do decide to come here I wouldn't recommend the bar, dirty glasses & poor service (pizzas excluded they were yummy) If i can give you advice its Take your bikes!! There is a cycle path outside of the site to the left. The right side takes you to Messanges (2 restaurants not alot else 15 mins)||The left side takes you to Vieux Boucau about 10 mins ride & its fantastic loads of bars/shops/restaurants & we ate there every night & quite cheap too, its got a beach aswell. Keep going straight until it says its 0.4km away then its the next right when you see the Resa Sol shop your there, just down that street. You will find little shortcuts like we did just watch everyone else. The super U is along this track too & its the 1st right into the woods. Take A TORCH it gets very dark & bike lights help too. You have to park your car in a Seperate carpark at this site which is good as the kids can play, not good ehen carrying 5 litres of Water lol. We made the most of it but won't...
