Le Sommelier — Hotel in Dunkirk

Amazing place right at the border of France/Belgium. The host (Baptiste) is extremely kind and hospitable. We stayed for 1 night with 3 people at the ground floor and loved every second of it.

The rooms, living room, bathroom and kitchen are super clean, nicely decorated (especially when you're a wine enthusiast) and spacious. We've chosen to add-on the aperitif style dinner + 4 wines (and quiz), it was very delicious and of high quality. The quiz was very fun to do, even if you already know a lot about wine. We loved the chocolate pie made by Baptiste's wife so much that we drove to the E.Leclerc the next morning to get us some containers to take it home.

Baptiste's place is nicely located close to e.g. Lille, Ypres, the beach and some great breweries like Bernardus and Westvleteren. The house itself has an amazing view over the meadows and is really quite. We had a really relaxing evening in the hot tub as well as inside!

Only points of improvement I can mention is to offer slippers to walk from the house to the hot tub on the gravel (there were comfortable bathrobes already) and maybe slightly larger towels at the toilet. This one was very small - it was completely wet...

Wij hebben hier gisteren 1 nacht geboekt. Wij waren met 4 personen en hadden de 2 kamers tot onze beschikking. Super vriendelijke hoste die je verwelkomt als je toekomt (10 min op voorhand even een seintje geven). Je krijgt een volledige rondleiding (kan in het Frans of Engels) en hij zet indien gewenst de hot tube aan. Bij het binnenkomen kom je in de keuken en de eetruimte terecht waarna je een smalle gang ingaat waar de 2 kamers zich bevinden. Elke kamer in zijn eigen kleur en inrichting. Alles is met heel veel zorg en kwaliteit gemaakt. Het is vrij recent gebouwd en afgewerkt, elke kamer heeft zijn eigen mooie badkamer die wederom weer zeer kwalitatief is afgewerkt. Na de maaltijd hebben wij nog zeker anderhalf uur in de hot tube gezeten wat zeer aangenaam was, en wat een view heb je. Het ontbijt was zeer verzorgt, alles was vers (brood, confituur, yogurt, granola,...). Je kreeg per persoon een klein potje van alles. Het enige wat we gemist hebben is iets hartelijks bij het ontbijt, een eitje, kaas of choco (voor de kids toch zeker). Wij hebben alvast een heel fijn verblijf gehad en komen...
