When traveling through France from The Netherlands to Spain in June 2017 I booked this hotel. Warm welcome by English speaking receptionist. I had a large modern decorated room on groundfloor. Very good functioning airconditioning. Bathroom is adjusted for elderly; f.e. folding chair in shower. Dinner buffet was from 19:00 - 20:30. For roughly 18 euro i had a 3 course dinner. (excl drinks like nestea E 2.90). For dessert I had a local made Basque pie and some local made cheese which I can recommend. Breakfast was also buffet; fresh bread etc. I slept well in this hotel. Another advantage: free parking on own terrain. There is also free wifi, but only for one device. When checking out I received some discount tickets to visit 'chateau Foix' and the tip to visit 'Chateau Roquefixade' on my way to Lavelanet. Immediately after I saw they charge (they charged after we left the hotel) they said they would refund the charge and to check my credit card the next month. This was a stalling-tactic. They did not refund the amount and now they are questioning that we paid in cash. Because I paid the second night in front of the boss there, I believe this is an intentional tactic to scam people out of cash payments. Do not go there if you do not want to be scammed. It is also very loud with windows directly onto...

One their outer walls it is written "WIFI garantir" on huge signs. However, this is only true if the receptionist remembers to give you the username and pasword before she closes down the reception in the evening. We tried to call the provided number, asking for the WIFI code, but the ARROGANT night duty refuced to understand the words "WIFI code" (which is pronounced WIFI code also in French). All he said before he hang up was "juste français" - meaning; French only.
Not having WIFI I sort of can accept in this part of Europe, but the arrogance is far beyond any acceptable service level in any country on the...
