My friend & myself stayed here for 3 nights while taking part in 3 days of dog shows in Neunkirchen, Germany which is about 45 minutes away. |This was my first stay in a Campanile but my friend had used them before. |The hotel is easy to find off of a main road. There are a few shops nearby including a Lidl across the road and a McDonalds about 5 minutes away. They do serve food at the hotel but a limited menu and quite dear. |The car park was big enough and we were able to park near our room. The car park has an electric gate which is closed at night. Access while closed is by code. |We had dogs with us and there was lots of grass for us to exercise them on. There were however 2 very noisy French Bulldogs in a house behind who barked a lot when they saw our dogs! |The room was small with a double bed, despite us asking for a twin room. With all 4 dogs in the room it was a very tight squeeze. There were 2 chairs and a wardrobe, a TV and tea/coffee making facilities too. The bathroom was big enough with a shower over the bath. There was a heater in the bathroom which you can easily turn on my accident while sitting on the loo! Not great in June when it was 30 degrees! |There was an air conditioning unit but I'm not convinced it was working as turning it on made no difference to the heat in the room. |The room had external blinds which were great, as we could leave the window open at night without worrying. |Overall I was happy with my stay here. My only niggles were: the size of the room was small, the double bed when we'd asked for a twin room, the air con unit not really working and a weird one, the bins in the car park were over flowing and not emptied the whole time...
Read moreVisited the Campanile in Saint Avold for a three day stay whilst attending an event locally. The hotel is very basic, but offers secure parking and reasonably comfortable rooms. ||Staff were very friendly and welcoming, and despite a language barrier, we were able to get everything we required. ||The facilities are basic - a small restaurant which we didn’t try, and some outdoor seating. Our room had a television and basic hot drink making facilities. ||The general decor showed signs of wear, our beds were dipped in the middle and the room generally could have done with modernising, however, it was clean and maintained daily whilst we visited. ||The A/C in our room worked, but was not as cold as I would have liked. ||Would I stay here again? For a night or two, yes. It’s a no-frills base which is comfortable enough to provide a stop whilst on a short break or to split up a longer journey. ||There’s a supermarket directly across the road (although the opening hours are more restricted than UK residents may be used to). There’s also a McDonalds around 3/4 minutes drive away, and a petrol station a few hundred yards up the road. ||The car park is secure at night, and requires a code (printed on the room access...
Read moreHad pre booked to stay over on our way back from Croatia.we found it easily and the reception staff were friendly. Rooms were very basic and very tired. One of the 2 rooms we booked had no towels and the phone didn't work. The towels were fixed quickly. The free Wi-Fi was very slow and the rooms quite noisy with paper thin walls, but you only get what you pay for. Breakfast was extra and we didn't bother with it and also eat out in the evening.||||There was a coach full of elderly folks that arrived and most were assigned rooms on the first or second floors. There are no lifts and no staff to help so some of them...
