After a skiing trip we needed somewhere to stay on a Sunday night prior to getting a flight from Nice the next day. Plenty of hotels available but not so many restaurants. Being a larger town, Manosque seemed to have places open, which is what drew us to the hotel.||I wasn't expecting a huge amount but this turned out to be a lovely hotel. Yes, it's a bit dated, but that's a good thing in an old hotel in a mediaeval town. We stayed in the room in the picture; the family room with the beam poking out of the roof. It's three storeys up and yes, there's no lift, it being an older hotel. This didn't bother us, but it may bother people who are less fit and / or have huge bags to lug around.||The owner was very helpful and showed us on a map where to eat that evening. Breakfast was a simple French affair with pains au chocolat, croissants and baguettes but it was all fresh and tasty. Good juices and coffee.||We all slept well and the room was very quiet. ||Manosque is also lovely. Everything in walking distance and well worth a stop over. This place is now on our list of places to stay...

Btw, according to the wife (who is nice and reasonable), they only had one door like this in the entire hotel. How lucky we are! I am writing more because of the reply below, which is kinda disappointing, and I would like to add that the bath water was warm the night we checked in, but was completely cold the next morning. That is why I only gave one star for this...

The public area decor is rough cast plaster painted orange and white, with blue well used carpet on the stairs to the 3rd floor. There is no lift and it's quite a trek to the top with suitcases, but help is available. Our corner room was a mish-mash of sectioned off areas, flooring and wall colours. However, the bed was comfortable and clean, as was the bathroom. Breakfast was OK, but the bread and croissants did not seem as fresh as could be. The owner was pleasant and helpful. ||The best point is the location, the worst is the...
