Le Clos des Bruyères — Hotel in Largentière

The room, the bathroom and the toilet are very small and shabby - if you’re taller or bigger than the average, be prepared to be squeezed. Poor lighting in the shower. Also the power outlet in the bathroom did not work and, as there were only two other outlets in the room - both with no access to the mirror, shaving or drying the hair was an adventure. |Once in the room one can literally hear every step or word outside. Fortunately it was not the busy season and the hotel was not full, otherwise, I guess it may be bothering when there are plenty people around. |The bedding was very uncomfortable. The breakfast was ok, without any dairy free or gluten free options. No seasonal fruit either. |On the last day we discovered a scorpion in the room. The windows were closed during the night, it must have spent the night in the room and I failed to walk on it in the morning. When delivered to the reception, the hostess smiled and said that it eventually happened. No sorry, no checking on how we were - exceptional lack of empathy or compassion!! In general hotel was nice, swimming pool accessible and clean, breakfast simple but ok, rooms big enough, just strange room service - during our stay of three nights they did not change any towel not a single time - not the wet one on floor, not others with visible dirt on them. Restaurant first evening seemed very good, on second - much less, my meat was not well done even after I sent it back. Menu was rather limited and they forgot to mention the special offer to us (we would probably choose that). Third evening we eat on other place. In general - I would like to return to the region but will look for...

We arrived after a long drive and welcomed to the hotel by an English speaking receptionist.|Our room was fairly small with and adequate bathroom and a small WC.|The swimming pool was very nice but was starting to show its age in places.|The evening meal menu was limited but the food was fine.|Breakfast was good but difficult to get as the room had been taken over by an MG owners club who constantly got in the way.|This is an hotel that we would stay at again but would not be our first choice...
