La Maison du Chapelier — Hotel in Limoux

I stayed for 5 nights and found such great care and kindness here that I wanted to move in permanently. Nice conversation, if you like it and very open owners Andy and Louise. James their son was shy, but all boy he is adorable.|||| The garden is beautiful, they have a wonder pool and sauna if you like. Very relaxing outdoor seating and a lovely breeze floated across the gardens. |||| Fresh eggs from the lovely chickens who got to roam, which I loved.||Andy delivered a wonderful breakfast, at my convenience. That meant I could sleep in without feeling guilty. ||||What I loved most was the openness and ease of getting to know Andy and Louise. I was privileged to meet Andry's parents Mike and Barbara who live in Edinburgh, which was my next destination. Honestly, felt like they were family. I invited them to visit me in California. Andy and I had even lived in the same small town in Wisconsin pretty close in timing. ||||I'll be bringing and sending others to stay here.||||The house is exquisite with lots of detail including beautiful tiles and stained glass windows. We stayed here for 2 nights & felt like we were invited into a friends home.The owners, Andy & Louise, along with their gorgeous son, made us very welcome from the moment we arrived. The hotel is stunning, close your eyes and imagine what a traditional French quintessential hotel is like & you wont be disappointed. We were able to choose our room via their website & it was exactly as advertised. Breakfast was a traditional French breakfast, plentiful & delicious. The setting is so peaceful & beautiful, 3 chickens strutting around the ample garden & parking on site, along with a swimming pool if you wish to use it.||||It s perfectly placed to explore the local area, we were at Rennes-le-Château in 10 minutes & Carcassone in 30 minutes & there is so much more to view in the area.||||We were recommended a restaurant in the village and were not disappointed, we ate there both nights. ||||We will definitely return here & cannot...

We totally fell in love with this LOVELY house.....as have other reviewers on this site....and as we drove out of Esperaza, we were already discussing a return visit and another stay in the near future! Andy and his wife Louise were wonderful hosts - combining welcoming friendly helpfulness and unobtrusive hosting to perfection! They provided an elegantly furnished and very comfortable room overlooking the gardens - and generous and delicious continental breakfasts each morning. Esperaza is perfectly situated for exploration of things Cathar, being near to the D118 - an important through road that hugs the Aude River and runs down from Carcassonne in the North.
