A very busy site even in June. The pitches are quite small which means that many cars are parked on the roadside across the front of the pitch which restricts the access. Some pitches are very difficult to access!! I would advise against using this site with a touring caravan unless you have a mover which is in good working condition! The site is clean and the toilets are modern and kept in spotless condition. ||The site access is decidedly tricky with only one barrier for entrance and exit! When we arrived, in the space of time it took to register, we had a camper van behind and another trailer caravan unit which was almost blocking the road! It appears that they have extended the arrival area to incorporate a bar/restaurant which takes up the space which could be used for better access -(in any case this was closed, in late June despite the site appearing to be virtually full and the fact that the European Cup was in full progress)! The whole layout appears very confused and poorly thought out!!||The site provides easy access to a large beach at the bottom of the site and there are villages and towns nearby for Restaurants and all essentials.||The approach from Ouistreham is quite tricky with lots of traffic calming measures/speed humps along the way. The main attraction for British visitors is no doubt the proximity to the ferry port but We would not use the site again unless we were specifically...
Read moreThis site is one of several along the Normandy coast which give easy access to the port of Caen. It is tight; you will not get a double wheel base caravan around it and I reckon a large motorhome would struggle. Our ‘van is 6.5m and reversing onto the pitch was an experience as the ‘road’ around the site is so narrow. Having said that, the pitches are boarded by hedges, the toilet and shower block (separate ladies block) clean and best of all there is direct access to the huge beach. The sand stretches for miles and if you have a dog they can dig and mess about in the water even in the summer which beats England. We were here just before the 80th D Day commemorations so the place was full of events and people from all over the world, however due to its special place in our history there is so much to do and see here whenever you come. Pegasus Bridge is just down the road and a little further on beyond Caen we’d recommend the Canadian museum and memorial, one of the best museums we visited in Normandy.|This is a good base from which to visit the Normandy landing beaches and is an obvious stop over after or prior to using the ferry. One word of warning, they shut reception at lunchtime and there is very little room for arriving ‘vans and motorhomes...
Read moreSmall pitches most away from the beach. It's not as picturesque as the brochures. Large vans and motorhomes are a struggle to park up. Pleased we didn't have an awning for our one night stay, that would have been a problem for size. Electric connection was a long stretch from most pitches and you had to encroach across other people's pitches to access at the rear, while they were in their accommodation. Some connections were inside the bushes and lots had broken covers. Washrooms had no soap just hand gel. Not good enough. In that same street there are many campsites. We probably won't stay here again. NOTE TO OWNERS: Our caravan is 7mt long, a smallish Swift Alpine 4, And we did go back to reception to choose a different pitch because the electric connection was two pitches away not accessable because of the bushes in-between lots. Even when we choose a different pitch the electric connection was hidden through some bushes into the next pitch unmarked as to where it was located. Broken cover on all the connections. We weren't the only ones that found it difficult to find. Definitely no soap in the toilet block and in that block was the toilet disposal point....
