At first, we planned to stay here just for a night but once we got here, we just changed our mind to stay for another night here. This hotel is a very peaceful place to stay. It is surrounded by nice garden and trees. It's like staying in a cabin in the wood. The staffs here are super friendly and are all willing to help! Pierre, a reception staff, was super nice, helpful, and very polite. He made sure our stay there was wonderful. He speaks English very well and recommended us various good places to visit and dine in. The hotel room was clean and have a warm European countryside feeling. The bed was comfy. They have an in room heater and A/C for whatever weather the outside is. The breakfast was good for €9. It includes a basket of various types of delicious breads, orange juice, and tea/coffee.
What a wonderful stay here! We highly recommend anyone who visits Amboise to try to stay in this place!

Read moreWe stayed here two nights in September at the end of a two week trip to France. All the other hotels we had stayed at on this trip we found in a book about traveling to France, and they were as advertised, so I didn't quite know what to expect at Domaine. Yes, the decor is a bit different, but every hotel we stayed in had odd wallpaper and decor. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean and big, and the bathroom was great. Breakfast was nothing fancy, but certainly good. A previous reviewer complained that they had canned fruit. Yes, they offered canned fruit, but they must have their reasons, and I just didn't eat any. The other offerings were quite good - fresh bread and croissants, yogurt, meats, and cheeses - a pretty typical French breakfast since that's what every other place had! My only complaint was our upstairs neighbors who got up very early and we could hear every step they took! I'd ask for a second floor room to prevent this situation. I also...
Read moreGood location close to Amboise and the Loire Castles. Quiet, charming, green scenery. Rooms are comfortable but… we came late August during a cold front, with temperatures down to 12 C at night and barely reaching 20 C during the day. The rooms were cold. And we could not get heating in the rooms. Even with individual electric heaters and after asking both reception and the maid. Breakfast is continental served at the table. I missed the options of a buffet with yogurt, honey, fresh cheese, etc… and not just bread, vienoiseries and marmelade. It would also be nice to have a water heater / coffee maker in the rooms (to warm up as it was cold, and there is no bar or restaurant on site). No fridge to keep food in the room either. So, overall nice place and location but not a great 5 stars review I would have hoped for...
