Hello,|we were unpleasantly surprised to be accommodated in the owners' house, instead of in a separate bungalow, as stated on the accommodation website. The rooms we were accommodated in were small, especially the one for the children and my mother-in-law. There was no place to put away clothes for changing and outerwear. We did not have a separate kitchen with a dining table, which was extremely inconvenient for us. If we had known that we would be accommodated this way, we would never have booked this accommodation. The breakfast was extremely poor, consisting of bread, pastries and yogurt. Our son had practically nothing to eat for breakfast, as he does not like pastries. Please note that some guests do not prefer this type of breakfast.|The owners recommended a French restaurant to us, which did not meet our expectations and had an extremely low quality of service and food. There was also no menu for children, given that we have two children, one of whom is 5 years old. Our advice is:|1. The accommodation website should indicate whether the accommodation is renting a separate bungalow or rooms in the main house together with the hosts.|2. Add other breakfast options and make options that guests can choose from - traditional French breakfast, Continental breakfast, British breakfast.|3. Evaluate the dining options offered to guests, taking into account the region they come from and whether they have...
We recently had the pleasure of staying at “Le Clos de la Rousselière”, a guest house at only a few minutes’ drive from “Le Château de Chenonceaux” in France, and I cannot praise it enough. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm hospitality by Sylvie and Patrick. Although our time there was short (only one night), every aspect of our visit left a lasting impression. First, the cleanliness of the place was impeccable. The attention to details was evident in every corner, making us feel instantly at ease and comfortable. The modern bedrooms and bathroom were tastefully decorated, with a touch of elegance that added to the overall charm of the place. It was good to see a property that seamlessly combined style with functionality. This place is really a haven of tranquillity, with a garden and a heated swimming pool. Ideal to relax after a busy day visiting the area. Unfortunately, we couldn’t make the most of it as we stayed only for one night. I want to emphasize the excellent breakfast as well. The owners took pride in showcasing their local products (freshly baked pastries and jams), and every bite was a delightful blend of flavours. A great start for the day! Speaking of the owners, their warmth and genuine care for their guests were truly remarkable. They went above and beyond to ensure our stay was unforgettable. They shared their extensive knowledge of the area and recommended a very good restaurant nearby (le Moulin Fort). Their personalized attention made us feel like valued guests, I would even say like family, rather than mere visitors. In a nutshell, I highly Le Clos de la Rousselière to anyone seeking a remarkable getaway. Whether for a short stay or a longer retreat, this guest house will certainly exceed your expectations. Hoping we will have the opportunity to come back...
Read moreWe stayed there as a couple for only one night, and I honestly wish we had spent more time there. The village is quiet and a bit remote from the more bustling towns all around it. The Clos de la Rousseliere itself is a tastefully decorated haven, with a garden and a swimming pool! The room was very clean and smelled nice. We tried the cheese and delicatessen assortment in the evening, which was great value for money and full of local delicacies, including the wine. The location is ideal if you're travelling by car, as there are tons of things to see and do less than 30 minutes away. The owners are apparently looking into developing the infrastructure for bicycles if that's more your thing, and you can even borrow bikes directly from there. The owners are extremely nice and helpful, and gave us lots of great advice (in French). One bit of warning though: I hope you love dogs! If you do, then book without...
