My wife and I stayed here for five nights in late September for our honeymoon. ||We stayed in the 'Double Chambre Royale.' It was a beautiful spacious room, with four poster bed, tasteful décor and a large bathroom with two sinks. ||The first thing we noticed was how beautiful and tastefully decorated the chateau is. ||The gardens were also large and obviously well kept. A gardener was working throughout our stay, and the owner also seemed to be gardening. Much of the summer colour had gone due to the time of year, but still very pleasant.||The swimming pool was covered over, but the owner happily opened it and cleaned it for us to use. It's unheated, which meant a 20C swim in 25C sunshine - lovely and refreshing.||The owner doesn't speak much English. However I manage to speak enough French to communicate effectively. The owner was very helpful, putting champagne in the fridge for us to chill, providing a corkscrew for wine, opening and cleaning the pool and suggested we visit a nearby international garden festival - which was fantastic and a highlight of our trip! ||The owner was so helpful in fact that I gave him a miniature bottle of rare Scottish whisky I had with me as a thank you. ||Breakfast each morning was really good. Excellent coffee, orange juice, croissants, bread, toast, butters, jams and yoghurt. ||The location is perfect for the Loire Valley, if you're looking for a very quiet place to stay. It is possible to walk to nearby Chenonceaux and Chisseau, but for anywhere else the car is necessary. Wine cave also within walking distance.||WiFi is available. ||Only negative I would mention is reference is made online to the place offering meals and wine tasting. This is not actually available, it seems something that used to be available but isn't now. I should also mention you cannot eat or drink in your room, due to risk of staining expensive furniture. However the owner does make the conservatory and gardens available for guest use.||Overall a fantastic place and I definitely recommend - we would definitely...
Read moreFrom the garden outside to the inside of the hotel: everything is very beautiful! I was charmed by the traditional interior decoration of the castle and the rooms, which are also spacious and comfortable. Breakfast is wonderful, with classical music and a beautiful view of the well kept backyard. The hosts are very friendly and willing to help, they gave us tips on tours and places to see around the region, and there are many things to experience there such as walking or cycling trails, horse riding, local wine tasting, walks through the woods and wineries, visiting the beautiful castles on the surroundings, nice restaurants and even the zoopark of Beauval. They also offer free wifi, an outdoor pool, music room and games room. A great place to rest and learn about the history. The hosting price is fair since the service offered is excellent. We had such a great time while staying there. Magical place, I would highly...
