The ABSOLUTE WORST "welcome" you can imagine !||||I have a little handicap that cannot be seen "right off the bat", so I need to visit the hotel rooms before staying somewhere. Well, everything was going fine with the woman we first met at the office. Then the "manager"(?) stepped in the conversation and literally kicked us (my wife & I) out in the most rudest and insulting manner I have ever experienced. I have over 10 years experience in the french hotel industry, have worked every job, from reception to top management, in economic category, up to 4 **, so I kind of know what I'm talking about.||If you should stay there, be very careful what you ask ...||||My advice : go to the Beryl Hotel in Lons-le-Saunier (20-30 minutes away, easy drive): it's less expensive, the rooms are brand new and VERY confortable, and the Personnel is really A+ professional AND very, veeeery NICE (housekeeping &...

Having driven over 500 miles to reach Clairvaux, I was quite worn out, especially as the mercury hit 39C in the shade! I was fortunate to be directed to the hotel by another tourist, who’d stopped to look at the car, which happened a lot. I was lucky to secure the last room in the hotel, for which I’m guessing they could have inflated the price, but didn’t. In fact when I looked suitably sad & haggard, I was given a small reduction. ||||My room was fine, the shower good & although I doubt it was the best in the hotel, very acceptable with great views of the mountains. ||||I didn’t eat dinner here (see Bistro Fontaine review) as the food looked a bit upmarket & slightly pricey for my budget.
