Liked: The Park is in a good location for sightseeing or to local shops. The young person who conducted the check-in was very helpful and gave good advice on where to go and see. Other than that I have nothing else I can comment on Likes.
Disliked: The Park in general is maintained. The hedges are trimmed and the grass is cut. On the other hand The facilities are poorly maintained. The shower/toilet block (unisex) needs a considerable amount of work to bring it to a five star rating. There are two showers and four toilets. One shower recess has a toilet located within this recess. At the time of using the WC did not work. The toilet seat was broken. There were many tiles missing in this recess. The shower itself was in a disgusting state. Black mould was growing in the grout of the shower recess. The tiles were dirty. The recess in general was very unhygienic. The drain smells of sewage. The second shower was no better except it had a seat to undress or dress yourself upon. The grout in this shower recess had black mould growing within the grout. The tiles were dirty. The floor was not much better. Tiles were also missing with considerable gaps between tiles. The drain to this shower recess was also smelling of sewage. The tiled walls within both showers recess were very dirty with cob-webs (spiders) located in every corner. These wall were also unclean. It begs to ask the question to the owner of this property, “Would you allow your husband/wife, mother/Grandmother or Grandfather to shower within this recess/s or use a toilet that is unserviceable?” The street lights around the park were either not working, or completely destroyed. It was hazardous walking at night. In respect to security the Park seem to be secure, however no security cameras were observed...
Read moreWe used Camping Etaing Du Brochet to visit Péronne, it is very well located for exploring the town (of which more later). The campsite is a municipal site under new management. The manager, Nicolas, is very helpful and friendly (also speaks English).||The pitches are spacious, some separated by small hedges and a few have good shade. There are about 6 with hard standing for campervans. There are plenty of modern electric hookup points. There are good spaces for caravans and tents also.||The toilet block has 2 showers (at no extra charge), there are sinks with hot water and toilets with seats. No paper or soap is provided. The toilet block is clean and tidy, but old fashioned.||The drinking water taps are at the toilet block where there is also a chemical toilet disposal point.||Outside the gates of the site is a motorhome service point, which is free to dump grey water.||Turn right out of the gate and it is about 800 metres walk to the museum of the Battle of The Somme (the Tourist Information Centre is opposite the museum, with information and maps of marked walking routes around Péronne).||It is half that distance to the town centre with bakeries, cafés and restaurants. Also within easy walking distance is an old family brewery (Brasserie De Clerck), with reasonably priced beers for sale.||We were pleased to find, also within close walking distance, a veterinaire, with English spoken and able to treat our dog for the Pet Passport, prior to crossing back to the UK.||There is a sheltered area with picnic tables near the campsite office, which is also handy for the free wifi point (password given...
