Read moreA typical example of a hotel that’s badly managed, with poor staff and a stale, unfriendly atmosphere.|We’d been looking forward to staying here since booking our tour of France, just as a stopover so no high expectations. We’ve stayed in a few McGallery’s in the past and after viewing the website and photos we thought we’d be impressed by the clean, modern style.|Unfortunately clean (ish) and modern is where the positives end.|The staff are unfriendly and across the board oozed arrogance, an attitude one would expect in Paris rather than L’Isle Adam. |To explain further, at a minimum we would like to be greeted with a smile.. unfortunately this hotel can barely manage acknowledgement let alone a smile.|We opted for room service as the restaurant was giving canteen vibes, and our Poke bowls were the size of small starters at best. The fries we ordered alongside were hard, undercooked potato wedges.|The bed was hard and uncomfortable and there were stains throughout the carpet.|It may be explained due to pets being allowed - one of the reasons we chose this hotel as we were travelling with our dog, however we’d never allow mess on carpets. |If you’re a keen golfer and looking for a quick golf break then the golf course is undeniably exceptional. If you’re happy for your time to be consumed by golf then you may well miss all the flaws of this hotel and perhaps not be perturbed by the unwelcoming attitude that runs throughout this hotel. |We stayed at Hotel Amicitia on the way out, and despite a little music disruption, would say it is superior to Domaine de Vanneaux. |We were really hoping to find a special place that we could use for future stopovers, however at a whopping €400 per night we will certainly avoid. |L’Isle Adam is well worth a trip but there’s better located and better serviced hotels. |Sofitel McGallery - You need...

Summary:, New, Modern, classy, friendly staff, good food, great facilities and golf course. Recommended.||||I stayed at this hotel for business recently as my company booked me in. In all honesty I did not check out the hotel on the internet before I arrived except that I saw the hotel was in the countryside. First impressions on arrival was it looked excellent from the outside, with the building almost designed in the style of farm buildings, but a modern twist. The reception / lobby was open, modern, airy and artistic with large pieces of modern art in amongst the seating area. The staff were very friendly and attentive on arrival and all spoke perfect English. The concierge took my luggage and I was checked in within seconds.||The hotel appears to be brand new and recently opened and is set aside a golf course and also has a pool and Spa facility. I didn't use any (mainly because I had not checked the website - my bad !, but for your early morning swimmers the outdoor pool heated to 28 Deg C is only open from 8.00am).||As you'll see from the hotel photo's its formed as a square with rooms facing out to the countryside and golf course or inwards to a central garden area. They are very large rooms with all the mod cons you need, ambient lighting, lots of glass doors, toiletries, robes, Wi-Fi, satellite TV and so on. ||We ate at the restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner and all the food was excellent. Breakfast had all the usual French / continental foods - cheese, meats etc, but also there were serials, eggs, bacon, sausage, mushrooms and so on, if you want to go traditional UK type fair.||The hotel is around 30 minutes drive from CDG airport at busy times and will cost around 50 Euro by Uber. Just make sure you have the full address as the Uber guy couldn't find...
