Les Essarts — Hotel in Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne

We have just stayed in Essarts apartments with MGS Ski who we've been skiing with for the last 18 years. An amazing family run business that just keeps on delivering time and again. And this year was no exception. The best holiday ever! We needed 2 reasonably priced apartments close together for us two and our grown up kids, plus friend. Yep, the kids were at last paying for their own holiday accommodation YAY! This apartment block was an excellent set up as Essarts 11 and 13 are just across the corridor from one another which meant that we could all get together for dinner or a game of cards... Clean, spacious, very comfortable & very warm with picturesque views from the balconies across the slopes and down the beautiful valley, we couldn't have asked for better. Plenty of hot water and good facilities such as microwave and dishwasher - well who's got time to do the washing up when there is fun in the snow to be had? The location is totally perfect as the apartments are located within short walking distance of the slopes. They are a modern design with some traditional features. There is storage for skis and boots in the basement although as we were holidaying with MGS Ski, we were able to leave our gear at the hire place 3 minutes walk away. Perfect! The lift makes it easy for access too. Plenty of very good restaurants on the doorstep, including Le Bella, the best apres ski bar right on the piste front. Stayed here as part of a package booked with MGS Ski. Fantastic for getting you ski hire and lift pass all bundled in and hassle free! The apartments are close to the slopes (ski in, ski out if the road is snowy!). You have a kitchenette with electric hob, microwave with grill, dishwasher, fridge and sink. All extras including cutlery, crockery, pots and pans were there too. Very clean and functional. Nice and warm! One room had bunk beds, one had a double bed and there was a sofa bed with another pull out bed underneath. Bathroom with shower over bath and separate toilet. Reception has free wifi but you can pick up the wifi from the apartment. There is a car park around the back and an underground car park if you book in advance. These apartments are big, and enjoyable to spend time in in inclement weather. There's WIFI in reception, and they also lend you fondue sets! Most have a great view of the mountain and the complex is very close to the main slope, so its just a gentle walk down to the snow. In heavy snow you can pretty much ski from the back of...
