Great base if you’re exploring the area by car.
We stayed at Campanile Findrol for two nights over a holiday weekend, mostly because hotel prices across the region were extremely high (we booked just a week in advance). We were coming from Chamonix and chose Filinges as our base to visit Geneva.
The room was a bit too small for three people — the extra bed was a pull-out but still comfortable. It was clean and the air conditioning worked just fine. The facilities are what you might expect from a hotel in this price range.
However, what really made this place five-star worthy (at least for a Google review) was the exceptionally kind service. We enjoyed the hotel’s little patio both nights for dinner — the first night we brought our own food, and the second night we got pizza from the small pizza truck just across the street. Both evenings, the reception staff kindly lent us a bottle opener and wine glasses. They made us feel genuinely welcome, and we had two lovely, relaxed nights thanks to their...
Read moreWe stayed twice recently. Once on way to Alps - once on way back. On the way there, there were only 2 staff running the whole hotel including check-in and the kitchen. The staff were friendly but the lack of them meant that we waited over an hour for our drinks and food to be delivered to our table and, by the time they arrived, it was too late and we were ready for our beds. The road outside is noisy but you can't hear it with the windows shut - not so helpful if you like to sleep with fresh air though. Also, the laundry is delivered at 5am so if your room faces the carpark you'll get woken. You'll also be woken by people smoking and talking outside the front door late in to the night if your room faces the car park (and you're not sleeping with your...
Read moreThe receptionist was kind every time we asked for something . The photos on booking.com showed that the breakfast has orange juicer but there was none. Breakfast was almost okay and the quality was not good. My suggestion to you is if you want to survive breakfast here bring your own utensils, the dishes looked like they were never washed, so dirty that we lost our appetite. The hotel and the room was nice although not very clean. I have to mention this: if you want to take ice, please don’t. I asked for some ice and the lady’s nose was dripping, but when I said you’re nose is running, and she reassured me that her nose is not dripping in my bucket. Despite everything, the staff were very accommodating, kind...
