We stayed here for a week in the beginning of September, all the staff were very friendly and accommodating and spoke fantastic English, we were a last minute booking but they let us see the mobile homes so we could decide which one we liked, we were able to choose our position too. I imagine in high season this wouldn’t be possible unless you booked well in advance. The pool area was great, clean, spacious and with two separate pools. We didn’t eat at the restaurant but it seemed very popular, we did use the takeaway pizza service and these were fantastic. The mobile homes were clean and comfy and felt more like small chalets or cabins compared to others we stayed in that were quite cramped. There was a lovely terrace for relaxing in the evening. Right on the dordogne river so a 5 min stroll to the bottom of the campsite takes you onto the river and some small beach areas, great for fishing enthusiasts. Domme is a 20-30 min walk away - but uphill and a little uneven underfoot so take care ! Cash only accepted at the campsite so make sure you have enough. Small shop sells the essentials and fresh bread/pastries made on site every morning. |Fantastic place and we can’t wait to come back, can’t recommend...
Read moreThis little place just outside Sarlat and close to Domme has been our paradise summer retreat for the last several years. We always recieve a warm welcome from David, Fabienne and the team and generally stay May to beginning of September. This campsite is very well organized, extremely clean and has something to offer for ALL age groups (even grandad loves it!). The situation of the camp offers easy access to all the local amenities and for those that want to welcome additional family and friends Bergerac airport is about 40 minutes away and will be made very welcome. You will enjoy great company here, an amazing swimming pool complex and childrens park, good restaurant and bar, varied activities or if you prefer just a quiet relaxing time by the river, where there is the opportunity to launch you canoe, fish or just mess about on the river. Every year David, Fabienne and their team make improvements to ensure the campsite offers you a wonderful experience. If you are looking for a little piece of paradise this is the site to choose for your holiday, we are a three generation family "enjoying our summer home" with...
Read moreWe loved our five days at this campsite. The girl at the reception spoke perfect Spanish and English, and we were welcomed with a big smile. The pitches are a good size although the grass wasn't abundant (there hasn't been much rain lately though). We didn't try the pool because the campsite has an awesome access to the Dordogne River for swimming, but it looked nice. We didn't try the cafe or restaurant, but found the shop a bit too pricey (we needed to buy some emergency food and felt a bit ripped off). The facilities were great although we didn't think it was appropriate that the WCs don't have a seat, and the toilet paper is not provided. A problem for tenting is that the campsite has too many lights, too bright and are ON all night. The worst part of our stay was the entertaining programmes from two neighbor campsites, with their speakers too loud until past midnight: not exactly what you are hoping to get when you go camping under the stars. Last but not least, the location is ideal to visit this part of the region, with lots of plans to do, and with a Carrefour Contact (well stocked) five minutes...
