Le Coustaty : location insolite chambres d'hôtes et grand gîte près de Sarlat, Périgord Noir — Hotel in Sarlat-la-Canéda

Le Coustaty is an old, remodeled hotel located just a short walk from the Dordogne River near St Vincent de Cosse. It is situated about half way between Beynac and St Cyprien, two of the many ancient and picturesque towns of the Dordogne and about a 25 minutes drive from Sarlat. It has all of the amenities one would expect for a comfortable stay.||||My wife and I stayed at Le Coustaty over the nights of September 16, 17 and 18. We arrived at the B&B around mid-afternoon on Monday and were informed, rather curtly, that our room was not ready because we had arrived early. It appears, unfortunately, that this rather cool reception set the tone for the rest of our stay. Although we and the owners conversed from time to time, we never developed the feeling that we were welcome guests.||||Our en-suite room for the three nights was small and clean. Fresh towels each day would have been appreciated. There was no TV in the room and we could not connect to the Wi-Fi from there. The Wi-Fi only worked for us in a small area near the bar. We were not able to get on-line from the breakfast area.||||We had one evening meal at Le Coustaty, served family style. It consisted of roast duck, fried potatoes, a choice of cheese or cake for dessert and a small glass of wine - a very limited and sparse offering. We had breakfast at Le Coustaty each day and this also was minimal, consisting of a croissant, bread, yogurt and juice along with various condiments.||||To make matters worse, it rained most of the time that we were at Le Coustaty. We know that this was not our host's fault but it did, none-the-less, contribute to the overall gloominess of our stay. Das malerische Örtchen Le Coustaty liegt zwischen Beynac und St. Cyprien knapp 800 m von der Dordogne entfernt. Hier kann man sich Kanus und Kajaks mieten. Die Inhaber der Gite (ähnlich einer Pension bei uns in Deutschland) sind herzlich, omnipräsent und für alle Fragen zugegen. Alles konnte sofort und unkompliziert geregelt und geklärt werden. Das Gelände ist 1 Hektar gross, tischeben, eingefriedet, besteht aus Wiese und altem schattenspendem Baumbestand. Das Piscine (Pool) ist in einem Topzustand, sauber, laubfrei und ungeheizt. Liegen sind ausreichend vorhanden. Die Gite wird familiär geführt, d.h., alle sitzen mit am grossen Tisch auf der Terasse, schwätzen, geniessen das Table d´Hote, tauschen sich aus oder hören einfach nur zu. Hunde sind gestattet, so denn sie anderen Hunden und vor allen Dingen den anderen Gästen gegnüber verträglich sind. So kam es niemals zu Spannungen mit anderen Hundebesitzern. Mde. Collart hat stets Insider-Tipps parat, welche sich immer zu einem interessanten Tag entwickelt haben. Sehenswürdigkeiten sind von Le Coustaty unzählige zu erreichen. Die unbedingt sehenswerten Ortschaften Beynac, La Roque, Le Bugue, La Douze, Campagne, St. Cyprien und Sarlat sind binnen weniger als 20 Autominuten staufrei zu erreichen. Des Weiteren reiht sich an Chateau an das Andere, welche besichtigt werden können. Auch kann über die Gites ein besuch beim Winzer oder Enterzüchter arrangiert werden. Kommt man dann Abends nach Hause zurück, spielt Msr. Maqueze an seinem Flügel Jazz- und Klassikstandards, was sie gelebte Gastfreundschaft der Inhaber romantisch unterstreicht. Die Zimmer sind einfach, sehr sauber und gepflegt ohne TV eingerichtet. Man kann sich über die zubuchbare grosse moderne Küche selber versorgen, ein Table d´ Hote einnehmen oder in zahlreichen umliegenden Restaurants speisen. Ein idealer Urlaubsort mit Familie oder Freunden, welche eine portmonnaieschonende Reise machen wollen und doch viel erleben möchten. Ich komme nächstets Jahr mit...

Nous avons réservé la cabane de sorcière pour deux nuits. Nous avons apprécié l’accueil des propriétaires et leur gentillesse. ||Nous avions emmené notre chien. A la lecture du contrat, nous l’avons trouvé strict sur ce point et appréhendions un peu le séjour. Dès notre arrivée, cette appréhension a disparu. ||Nous conseillons cet hébergement, et doublement pour les personnes ayant des animaux! ||Les hébergements sont astucieusement disposés dans le parc, de manière à ce que chacun ai son intimité.||Les douches sont propres et individuelles, ce qui est très appréciable ! Le toilette est commun avec la roulotte, mais est propre également. ||||La literie est de bonne qualité. Nous avons très bien dormi dans cet hébergement insolite.||||La piscine est agréable, il y a une partie ombragée. Il y’a également un petit bassin pour les enfants. ||||Point négatif : il n’y a pas de sac poubelle dans la poubelle de la cabane. ||||Suggestion : laisser un frigo à disposition sans supplément surtout lors des fortes chaleurs...
