We stayed overnight (4 rooms) during one of the hottest weeks (temperatures soaring to 39 Celsius) - on a last minute booking & were so pleased with our stay. The owner Phillipe was welcoming, helpful & ensured the air conditioning was on. The hotel is new with modern designs & fitted out with all the mod cons today's travellers expect. Rooms & bathrooms are compact with utilitarian toiletries - but everything was fine. Breakfast is an extra Euro 8 & well worth it. ||Located in an industrial area with shopping & restaurants nearby - its a good & reasonably priced hotel to use as a base to explore the surrounding areas. We had a voice mail message as we were leaving home to catch the ferry to say that they had double booked one of our rooms for one of the nights and that we would have to find alternative accommodation for that night. When we arrived at the Campanile there was no moving them. After much argument they contacted the Brit hotel 5 minutes drive away and suggested we go there. Read moreWe booked this hotel at the last minute in France as we wanted a convenient stopover on the long trip to Cherbourg. We thought Saumur would be a good place and this hotel was very cheap. It was quite hard to find being in the middle of a shopping complex and it is quite a way from the city itself but once we found it it turned out to be just right.
