Camping in Pays de Hanau — Hotel in Saverne

Very nice little camping side. There is a plenty of place for campers (also on solid ground in case your camper is heavy) and for tents. You can pick your place as per your preferences near to the swimming pool or in the shadow between the trees. There is a little restaurant, you can order a breakfast for 7 EUR (half of baguette with jam or croissant, some hot drink like coffee, tee or chocolate). If you forget your pétanque set you can borrow one for sure you will have a company to play with. In the neighbourhood there are some paths for walking. Campingplatz am Waldrand, nachts sehr ruhig, schöner Badeteich mit etwa 2500m² Fläche (einfach, aber erfrischend und ohne Chlor, Speisung aus einer örtlichen Quelle, geöffnet Juli/August, Holzdecks und Rasenplätze zum Sonnen) und viele Wanderwege und MTB-Strecken unmittelbar am Camping. Die neuen Holzchalets (drei Stück, Stand Juli 2017) sind zweckmäßig und modern eingerichtet (Herd, Abzug, Kühlschrank, moderne Duschkabine, Toilette, alles sehr sauber), optimal für max. 5 Personen, dazu ein Klickklack-Sofa im Aufenthaltsraum für zusätzlich 2 Personen. Die Matratzen sind sehr straff, aber das ist Geschmacksache. Es gibt eine überdachte Terrasse mit Doppeltür zum Aufenthaltsraum mit Tisch und Stühlen. Die Menschen auf dem Platz sind herzlich, auch die Dauercamper, viele sprechen neben Französisch auch Elsässer Deutsch. Es gibt etwa 30 schattige Touristenplätze (die schönsten am Badeteich), die Santäranlagen sind sehr sauber und modern. Highlight: Sehr leckere Tarte Flambée und Pizza ab Freitagabend bis Sonntag in der auf dem Platz liegenden Brasserie. Hier treffen sich auch Menschen aus dem Dorf, man kommt ins Gespräch, wenn man möchte. Insgesamt: Sehr grüner, schattiger und sauberer Platz (zudem sehr preiswert, was die Stellplätze angeht) als erholsame Basis für Ausflüge im wunderschönen Hanauer Land. Die Chalets beurteile ich mit 510€ + 40€ Reinigung pro Woche in der Hauptsaison dagegen nicht gerade als Schnäppchen im Vergleich zu einer Ferienwohnung oder einem Landhotel, bei 370€ incl. Reingung in der Nebensaison April, Mai, Juni, September sieht das schon...

Liked: Good location in beautiful countryside and close to a couple of small towns. Site facilities are well kept and kids enjoyed the table tennis and small play area. Staff were really helpful and supportive and the bar onsite is great 👍

Disliked: Kids were put off swimming in the lake due to the green algae. They did clean it while we were there but this was on our last day so never got to us it, shame as a very hot few days...
