La Chasse Royale — Hotel in Senlis

I expected much more given the reviews. The grounds are very nice although we did not get much time to enjoy them because while we arrived at 3:00 pm no one was there to meet us. A doctor's appointment meant we cooled our heels until 5:00--and numerous phone calls went unanswered and no call back to our cellphone to advise of of the situation. I was 30 minutes away from booking a room at one of the several hotels in the area. || I specifically requested, and it was verified, that we would have a twin bedded room. Did not happen--Celine forgot. She did offer up a solution--we could use a second bed in another room on the street. We opted to go with the room offered as it was not on the street and probably would be quiet through the night--it was. The room was rather small and devoid of any chairs--no space for them. Bathroom facilities were just fine.||Breakfast is a typical minimalist French breakfast minus croissants and/or pain chocolat--baguette only--and the worst orange juice I have...

While it's true that this lovely gites is located on a busy street, I found the street noise to be absolutely no problem. One must not be scared to pull in and out of a blind intersection to park here, however! |||| I have limited mobility, and it is difficult to find a property with character that is also accessible. This place fit the bill perfectly!!! I really can't emphasize it enough. The accessible room is on the ground floor of the main building (not isolated through another door or on another part of the property). The room was lovely and charming. The hosts were so kind, caring and giving! Sarah gave tips for places to visit nearby like restaurants and cultural activities. They prepared us a full French breakfast every morning and it was always super delicious! Comfy beds and warm shower. I honestly have zero minpoints about our stay at La Chasse Royale. Everything went smooth, check-in, check-out, bed-/bathroom, location, kitchen and neighbourhood. It is close to Paris by car and totally reachable for short visits.
