We spent 5 nights at Hotel Richiardi in September. The two ladies who run reception and the breakfast service are very helpful and welcoming. The hotel is also a brasserie style bar / terrace during the day and early evening, with rooms located on the first and second floors. ||||Our room was on floor one and overlooked the port / marina. Carqueiranne port is very pretty and the views did not disappoint. We took breakfast every morning on the terrace below - buffet style French fare - fresh baguette, croissants, jams, cereals, pain au chocolat etc. This was very tasty and you would not leave hungry. ||||The rooms themselves are basic, clean and comfortable, and reflect the standard of a small hotel, making it a good base to explore the local area. Parking is in the public car park just across the way in the marina, and did not seem to be a problem (no charges). ||||My only other comment (tip) would be that rooms on the first floor (front) do seem to suffer from a bit of noise disturbance in the early morning. The kitchen is just below and they obviously open up fairly early in preparation for breakfast. This is by no means a big negative but is rather something to be aware of in a small hotel where sound does tend to travel.||||All in all this is an excellent base for exploring the local area (Hyères, St Tropez, Giens etc) and has a very good relationship regarding price-value (70 euro / night room only for a...
Read moreWe chose this hotel as we had stayed in the village previously some years earlier and had walked past it several times and loved the position. Also we had a more mature friend with us who struggled with climbing hills, but loved to walk along the promenade and beach. 2 star, rooms are basic but very clean. We had no 8, double with shower, our friend no 9, kingsize plus single and bath with shower. Slight shortage of plugs, but we survived. The 2 mains assets of this hotel are it's position and staff, and the resort is very French, virtually no English around, which was refreshing. Good WiFi, my husband had to work for several days say on the terrace outside the front door, and managed very well, enjoying the fabulous view plus coffee and the local rose wine with ice. We did not hire a car this time but the buses are excellent and cheap to both Toulon and Heyres (both highly recommended) and further afield if you wish. Tourist Information office on the quay is very useful. Please venture up to the old village up the hill and the village square, lovely market on a Thursday and a nice bar or two. Again thanks to Florence and...
Read moreA small hotel in a small town, very French. Why there? Because we were looking for an overnight between Nice and Arles. This seemed to be halfway with a possibility of an ocean view room for the night. If you want to feel out of your element this may be for you. The staff was pleasant. We were on the second floor. No elevator, not good if you travel heavy and are challenged by the stairs. The room was of european size, that is, not very large but quite adequate if you are used to travel in Europe. The next morning for a nominal fee, the breakfast is served in a tea room or on the veranda (weather permitting). It is connected to the hotel building. Restaurants are available...
