Camping Le Diben — Hotel in Vannes

We booked this camping site on the strength of its reviews, listed facilities and ASCI price. What a total letdown! We went in May which is low season in France. The on site, bar, pizza takeaway and shop were closed. Because of the rain we were told the ASCI pitches were waterlogged and moved onto a regular pitch at inflated price. The toilet block is dated and no toilet paper or soap is supplied. (Could be normal for French sites). There was plenty of song birds on the site, saw a white throat and missle thrush, and woke most mornings to a Cookoo. My summary, shabby basic two star site which has no bar/food kind low season. This was my third time at Le Diben campsite and I can’t praise it enough. Aside from realistic prices it is so friendly and well situated in the Morbihan. Well attended facilities and a modern build clubhouse with friendly staff.||Everything you need for a great family holiday and also if you are popping by for a couple of nights.||The swimming pool is always a perfect temperature and kept clean.||During holiday season there are visiting gourmet food vans (also the local eateries are good value too) - although bbq’s are free to use at the campsite which is a nice touch.||Would I visit again? Initially intended to stay for 5 nights but stayed for 10. Friendly campsite with club house and outdoor swimming pool. Adequate and clean washing facilities. Very near to beach and short walk from pretty town L'amour Baden. |Plenty of places to explore around the Gulf of Morbihan and the local port has regular boat trips to the Isle of Gavrinis. |There is a regular bus service to Vannes but the best way to explore is by bicycle.
