Château du Jonchy — Hotel in Villefranche-sur-Saône

If you are looking for somewhere within 15 minutes of the motorway, this could be for you: a chambre d'hôte with a difference You don't stay in the main house but in a delightful rustic conversion of an outbuilding. We loved the independence. We could park the car right outside our door. Inside the former stable with its brick floor we found not only a shower room but also a small kitchen with crockery, cutlery, kettle, fridge and microwave. We knew this in advance and had stopped off to buy food for the evening. It suited us well. Breakfast was in the impressive main house; various home-made jams for the bread and croissants, also fruit juice and yoghurt.||||The whole place and, indeed, the area itself was peaceful and colourful, set within sight of the rolling Beaujolais hills we had driven through to get here. Madame speaks good English and was very helpful, arriving with garden chairs in case we wanted to sit outside. Nous avons séjourné deux nuits dans cette chambre a l'occasion d'un mariage dans les environs. Le cadre, une belle propriété, est vraiment agréable, et d'un calme absolu. Belle piscine accessible aux clients à certaines heures ( une bonne partie de la journée quand même.). La salle a manger, où sont servis de bons petits déjeuners, a une décoration très classique que pour ma part j'aime beaucoup. La chambre elle même ("l'écurie") est grande et simple.
