I stayed in October 2018 in this hotel. It was my second stay. ||||First of all one has to realize that accommodation in Libreville is really limited and very expensive! The so called better hotels are all in remote areas of the city which will force you to use their own restaurant to eat and integrated shops to buy stuff of your daily needs which again is expensive. ||||From this point Hotel Le Patio is convenient as it is located in Quartier St. Louis where you find shops, restaurants, clubs etc. all in walking distance (but uphill and downhill since Libreville is a quite hilly city - like Freetown or Kigali for instance). The rooms start from 40.000 CFA up to 90.000 CFA (suite), so in average 60.000 CFA which is roughly 95 EUR per night. ||||However, as you might expect in Africa there are a lot of things who are not working in the rooms. On my actual stay I had to change the room due to the fact that taking a shower was life threatening. After showering for some minutes the metal shower holder and hoses gave me an electrical shock. The hotel staff promised to fix the problem but the next day it was the same. In the new room water only was available intermittent, sometimes no water came at all - sometimes just a bit... ||||The AC worked and wifi connection was fairly ok (with disruptions and sometimes going very slow of course). So try to get a room on the first floor cause the router is mounted on the outside patio wall on the same floor.||||Some of the cleaners were very unfriendly behaving as they would own the place. On the same time they are more than lazy to do their job: Floor not cleaned, towels not changed, no replacement of toilet paper. Only the bed was made. When I told them that if they would work like that in Europe they would get fired on the spot no reaction came and it seems that they simply don't care about anything. After I complained this with the hotel management things got a bit better though.||||So this is a relatively affordable hotel in a strategic location. Even some business travelers are staying here. However, the place needs to be refurbished totally (at my stay some rooms were presently renovated), especially the sanitary plumbing and water supplying system. Don't expect any luxury, it's very spartanic but given the lack of a better choice in Libreville a stay here is...
Read moreNot least based on several very positive reviews I decided to stay at this hotel during a recent business trip. The hotel turned out to be acceptable overall but the basis for the more positive reviews is not evident - the hotel is not particularly attractive. This said, the hotel was clean and the rooms acceptable. Credit card payments were not possible when I wanted to pay, and the breakfast is the standard African baguette-and-coffee type of thing. Unfortunately, the court yard is not as green and pleasant as on the pictures, nor as big. The bed in my room (ground floor) was OK, the AC worked reliably, internet most of the time (reception was much better in the lobby). Warm water was available but the bathroom could have done with some renovation. Generally, no attention to details had been paid during construction/renovation, and the rooms were bare of any decoration. Staff were friendly throughout the stay. There are some fine eating options in the surrounding streets, an ATM and taxis frequently come to look...
Read moreAs the number of reviews to this place attest to, the above 3 words can summarise this place very well. Hotel options in Libreville can be quite expensive and this place offers the budget traveler an excellent choice.||||I stayed at this establishment for 3 nights and I must say that the place is nice with comfortable rooms and decent wi-fi. The rooms are not 5 star but excellent value for money. Language could become a bit of a problem but nothing that some hand gestures and a smile cannot fix. Breakfast is accompanied by fresh croissants and strong coffee. There are numerous restaurants, bars and convenience stores in the vicinity of this place and there is a taxi stop right in front of the hotel if you need to go anywhere in the city.||||The payment process was very seamless as they have a card machine on the premises and also accept Paypal on their website.||||I will definitely recommend this place to budget travellers and I will myself be staying...
