Gästehaus Gerhardt — Hotel in Bad Bergzabern

We came here last minute after a 7 hour drive because the Novotel hotel we booked was unacceptably dirty. Coming in the gastehaus late in the evening was like a warm bath after a long days work. Very neat and organized. Fine bathroom, clean sheets and everything had a very romantic, personal touch to it. Later we found that the owner of the place did a lot of the renovation and decoration himself which explained allot. Because it was probably not a busy period we practically had the whole floor and living/kitchen for ourselves. Though we were alone and the place was all quite, I can imagine that even when fully booked, staying here a few night may very well be a refreshing experience. Especially when you share your neighbors interests- which for most people visiting this area would probably be hiking or some sort of activity like it. As vegetarians there aren’t many options in the area but we had sushi dinner in a town nearby which was very okay-ish in a good way. Restaurant name was Koi. Remember to bring cash. Back at the Gastehaus we found that in the kitchen there were pots full of all kinds of nice tea which we mixed up to an awesome selfmade brew. After that we had a very good night sleep. The beds were also very okay. In the morning we had some fresh bread from the recommended bakery -which I would now also recommend. On the way back from the bakery I spotted semi- tame- super cute- rabbits walking around the Gerhardt premises. As an animal lover I think this had a very nice special touch to the already special place. There is a small lake on the other side of the road that can be used for swimming in summertime, and there’s a road directly up the hills and forest. It was now all frozen up now, but it was very inviting to walk all the way up. Petty we just didn’t have the time. Anyways. I’m really glad we found the place to rest our heads for the night and if faith somehow brings us back again to this corner of Germany ( which probably won’t happen as we personally have absolutely nothing to bring us here) - I would absolutely book one or more nights at Gästehaus Familie Gerhardt!

I’m reading reviews about bedbugs even with pictures. I find these offensive to the owner because they are not even bedbugs, but just common bugs Reduviidae which are very common to the forrest rich area. They are completely harmless. Also in the reviews I’ve read that the owner would not be there for service or questions. You can call the man anytime in case of emergency or in case your diaper needs changing but for anything else I’m sure you’ll be able to manage yourself.

Wir waren rundum zufrieden! Die Unterkunft ist ruhig gelegen, sehr sauber und verfügt über einen wunderschön angelegten Garten mit vielen Sitzmöglichkeiten und einem gemütlichen Grillplatz – ideal zum Entspannen und Zusammensitzen. Anhand der (älteren) Bildern im Netz, sehe ich, dass stätig Veränderungen stattfinden. Klasse

Vor der Reise hatte ich mir Gedanken wegen der Gemeinschaftsküche gemacht (jeweils eine pro Etage), doch diese Bedenken waren völlig unbegründet. Man trifft auf Gleichgesinnte, wechselt ein paar freundliche Worte, tauscht sich – wenn man möchte – über Ausflugstipps aus, wünscht sich einen schönen Tag, und jeder geht seiner Wege. Eine angenehm unkomplizierte Atmosphäre!

Besonders schön ist die Unterkunft auch für Gruppen oder Familien. Während unseres Aufenthalts war ein größerer Familienkreis vor Ort – Geschwister, Kinder, zum Teil auch Enkel – und es war wunderbar zu sehen, wie harmonisch das Miteinander funktioniert hat. Eine tolle Unterkunft für naturliebende Familien die den Schwarzwald und das Elsass erkunden möchten

Gefallen · Das Haus sowie das dazugehörige Grundstück deckrn wirklich Bedürfniss. Die Zimmer sind ländlich aber äußerst komfortabel eingerichtet. Die Gemeinschaftsräume wie Küche und Aufenthaltsraum sind mit allem ausgestattet was man im Alltag so benötigt. Ein Babybett wurde kostenfrei inkl. Bettwäsche zur Verfügung gestellt. Das Grundstück um das Haus herum ist ein absolutes Highlight. Überall sind Sitzgelegenheiten und kleine Nischen zum entdecken sowohl für Kinder als auch für naturliebende Erwachsene ein absoluter Traum. Es gibt Schaukeln, ein Trampolin, einen Kletterturm mit Rutschen und sogar Kaninchen die tagsüber immer wieder übers Grundstück hoppeln. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder und haben hier eine echte Oase für uns entdeckt. Nur zu empfehlen für Familien.
