Rhön-Hotel St. Georg — Hotel in Bad Brückenau

I booked this hotel as a stopover during a business trip. The hotel sits on the side of a hill in a wooded area and as a result is quiet, The decor is a mix of old, solid furniture adding a touch of nostalgia to the general atmosphere.||The room was clean albeit a touch chilly on arrival. Fortunately the cast iron radiator in the room and the more modern towel radiator in the bathroom soon had the comfort level up. The room I had was fairly basic. The bathroom had been modernised in the not too distant past but was very small with only a half basin squashed into a corner next to the door. Difficult for washing without soaking the floor! The water was hot and the shower pressure good.||The lady at the reception and serving breakfast in the morning was extremely friendly. The breakfast room was quite cosy, reminding me of tea rooms in Windsor, with a large porcelain figure of the hotel's namesake, St. George on the sideboard. The continental breakfast was well presented with a variety of tasty fare.||I can recommend this hotel...

I really enjoyed my stay in St. Georg . First of all I remember nice Lady at the reception and a very nice and tender cat hiking around the place.|The room I had was big and nice with a view to the valley.|Very hot heater if required.|The only thing I was missing was desk. There was a small round table but not the real working desk.||Breakfast is very traditional, and I personally liked it.||Location is cool for walking, and I liked free parking at the back yard.||100% satisfied...

Man merkt es der Gegend an, dass die Zeit der Bäder Vergangenheit ist. Und gerade das macht den Charme des Waldcafés aus - hier scheint die Zeit ein wenig stehen geblieben zu sein. Es ist nicht alles so schnieke und tipp topp, wie es sich vielleicht der eine oder andere wünscht, aber seine Besitzer machen dies alles durch ihre liebenswerte Art mehr als wett. In der im Zimmer ausliegenden Begleitbroschüre steht, dass man alles daran setzen würde, dem Gast den Aufenthalt so angenehm wie möglich zu machen........ und das können wir wirklich nur bestätigen. Als wir ankamen, regnete es sintflutartig und wir hatten keine Lust, uns irgendwo in Bad Brückenau auf Restaurantsuche zu begeben (das Waldcafé hat leider schon seit geraumer Zeit keinen Restaurantbetrieb mehr). Trotzdem bekamen wir von der Hausherrin ein feines Abendessen (nach Rücksprache scheint es möglich, dass man durchaus im Hause zu Abend essen kann).
