Hotel Restaurant Jägerhof — Hotel in Duren

Not a repeater for me. First the good: Room is of a comfortable size. Bathroom too, with excellent water pressure and temperature in the shower. Enough towels. An easy way to regulate temperature in the room. Bedding looked clean. Oat milk available at breakfast.

The disappointing: Paper-thin walls. Someone came home after 1:30 in the morning and kept talking at full volume for an hour at least. The inconsiderate guests woke us up and, as there was no phone in the room and no way to alert reception, I had to just wait for them to shut up. Room decor such as it was - very spartan with horrible ‘Soviet prison’ ambience lighting. No bottle of water or fridge or anything. Pillows looked very old and were lumpy. Towels are of bad quality. We checked in at 7pm and you would have thought it was midnight. The man at reception seemed unpleasantly surprised to see us. The woman who came after was a bit more friendly but still admonished us for being late. This place is also a restaurant and all they had to do is hand us the keys. I spent 7 nights at this hotel in June, 2014. It was the second time here and would stay again when in the region. I like the old German style, it feels homely here.||The rooms are warm and well serviced daily. This place was a find. A friend of mine stays here every time he goes to Duren. The food is very, very good. The rooms were a good size and for a small Hotel had ALL the amenities like a hairdryer, heated towel rack, and plenty of bath towels. |The lobby is under construction at the moment, but the restaurant is open and it does not interfere with the running of the hotel.|We had rooms in the newer section out in back.|The place has a very friendly atmosphere.
