What a lovely place! location was brilliant for me, a short train journey from the airport and 10 minutes' walk from the station; two train stops from the central station. But also, right next to miles of forest with superb gravel trails throughout. I went running in the forest on two mornings and it was lovely. There's an amazing swimming pool complex about 10 minutes' walk away too. It's quite a sporting area, next door to the UEFA 2024 offices and training and academy and right by the Eintracht Frankfurt stadium. I can't comment on what the area is like on match / concert days but given that it's in the flight path of Frankfurt airport and the double glazing in the rooms kept them very quiet, I doubt it would be a problem. the hotel staff were brilliant. My German is terrible but they didn't mind speaking excellent English and helping me out. Check in and out was easy. the room was clean and neat. The hotel has a smart, clean design aesthetic. It's kind of minimal but I had everything I needed (desk, wifi, fridge, safe, cupboards, drawers, bedside table, light, mains points etc., and a TV). It's tidy. The bedsheets were clean and crisp, the shower was great and the double glazing and air conditioning kept it quiet and cool so I slept well. there's a small gym in the basement with some body-weight equipment like gym balls, hanging straps, hand weights etc., but you can also borrow a bike free of charge. I was travelling to and from the Messe so I cycled every day instead of taking public transport,...
Read moreWe chose this hotel because of its proximity to the stadium, but unfortunately our stay was very disappointing.
We arrived around 1 PM with our 11-month-old baby and asked if it was possible to check in earlier than 3 PM. At first, the staff said they would help us, then they told us the room was not ready. We said it was fine and thanked them. Right after that, however, they offered us early check-in for €10. We asked how a room that was “not ready” could suddenly become ready for €10, and only after a more senior lady overheard us did we finally get the room without paying extra. In the end, we got the room earlier, but we felt like they tried to take advantage of us — it would have been better not to give us the room early at all than to treat us like fools.
The second issue was at breakfast. After we finished, my wife politely asked and took a small bowl of food for our baby. A staff member came over and very rudely told us that breakfast was over and this should not happen again.
Overall, the impression is that the hotel tries to squeeze extra money out of guests at every opportunity, under the excuse of “rules” and “discipline.” In a respected German city, this approach is truly disappointing.
My advice: Even if you’re coming for the stadium, stay a bit farther away. Spend those few extra euros on the S-Bahn instead of being treated disrespectfully and made to feel like you’re...
