The worst hotel I've ever been in my life. You hear the noise of the planes when taking off and landing (the airport is stuck). I was given a bed with an old mattress and I was nailing the springs of the mattress all night (the next morning I gave the complaints at reception). You can not sleep all night with the noise of the airplanes and the springs of the bed nailing them all over the body (I did not ask for the change of room at dawn because my children slept in other beds and if I asked for the change at dawn we would have to wake them up and the remedy would be worse than the disease). The toilet is in a room so small that it looks like you're in a coffin. The ominous breakfast (costs 21 euros per person) and there is almost no food as there is a lot of food but they do not replace so I found empty many things (we left hungry after paying 42 euros for breakfast two people) another thing that I Negatively surprised was that the waiter halfway through breakfast came to our table and demanded the number of the room and the immediate payment of breakfast but vanos to see: that we are staying at the hotel and have not yet done the chek out! , with which I was half breakfast with one hand eating a sandwich and with the other paying the distrustful I insistent waiter I SEEMS INCREDIBLE (normally it is expected to finish breakfast to demand payment or to charge in the payment of In addition to the expensive parking: 21 euros per night, forget to park at the door or in the immediate vicinity as it is IMPOSSIBLE After traveling around hotels around the world I can say that this the worst hotel by far.
Read moreThye S-Bahn connections from downtown Munich are so excellent that we found that it was unnecessary to stay overnight at the Novotel before departing from Munich airport. By the way, the hotel can be reached through an easy 5-minute walk from the S-Bahn station "Flughafen Besucherzentrum." There is no hotel-owned shuttle service from the hotel to the airport available but you can use a public bus that leaves every 20 minutes from a station 3 minutes away from the hotel entrance. The hotel is modern. From the outside it looks like an office building, not a hotel. The rooms are so-called micro rooms with very narrow entrance doors (see my pictures), narrow elevators, folding door to the bathroom, very small TV screen, etc. Everything is thought through and designed like the living space in a submarine. Our room had a toilet separated from the bathroom which we liked. The shower is modern. There are plenty of USB ports and a functional desk. The mattresses were excellent but we missed additional pillows. In exchange for the very small and narrow private spaces travellers can use a couple of large common spaces: the gym on my floor had a few cozy reading chairs in a separate room. The modern gym was clean and had two treadmills, free weights, one all around machine. The buffet/breakfast room is very spacious. There are some adjoining common spaces made for reading, conversations, and lounging. Breakfast -unfortunately- is extra when booking through Priceline (add Euro 23/person; kids are free). The buffet is rather large and features "Weisswuerste" (a Munich speciality), warm food items, and a variety of yoghurts. Not the opulent, old style German hotel buffet but close. This hotel is clean, sterile, and transient which can probably be explained by the fact that it is mostly used by travelers who have an early morning departure from the airport and want to get to the out-of-the-way airport...
Read moreA Stay at Novotel Airport Munich
After landing in Munich, Novotel Airport felt like the perfect retreat, conveniently accessible by taxi, train with a 12-minute walk, or bus followed by a brief 4-minute stroll. Upon arrival, the friendly and welcoming staff made check-in seamless, setting a positive tone for the stay.
The room, though small, was cozy and thoughtfully designed. A coffee maker with a couple of capsules was a nice touch, offering a quick caffeine boost. When bottled water was missing, I discovered it could be fetched from the fitness room—a detail that showcased the hotel’s practicality.
Breakfast the next morning was delightful, a spread that lived up to high expectations with its variety and flavor. However, dinner at the restaurant was less impressive. The cheeseburger, though promising on the menu, fell short of expectations, especially considering the price. It was a contrast to the breakfast experience that had started the day so well.
The fitness room offered just enough for a light workout, with a cable machine and dumbbells up to 25 lbs. While not extensive, it served its purpose. The sauna was a welcome surprise—a perfect way to unwind after a workout or a day of travel.
Overall, Novotel Airport Munich is a practical and comfortable option for travelers looking to stay close to the airport. While the restaurant could refine its offerings, the convenience, amenities, and excellent breakfast make it a...
