I've stayed here before, but this time I was with a friend on our motorcycles on our way to Asia.||||It had been raining (and what rain!) all the way from Calais, so when we arrived 716kms later at 8:00pm we were soaked. But the (usual) warm welcome and the staff's kind offer to wash and dry our wet gear lifted our spirits. Our twin room was clean and functional, and the shower was hot and powerful.||||But the highlight is the food in this family-run hotel's attractive restaurant, which is based on local cuisine, delicate yet hearty. And attentive service too. Plenty of locals dine here - they clearly know when they're onto a good thing.||||Breakfast is the usual continental self-service affair with plenty of quality food on offer. Good coffee too.||||Covered parking is off the courtyard at the side of the hotel. I've only ever stayed here when passing through, but as a destination, if you were after seeing Wurzburg, it wouldn't be a bad...
Read moreWe enjoyed a single night stay at this hotel whilst passing through to commence our trip down the Romantic Road. The free parking was in a good location right next to the hotel but is tricky tol maneavour in and out of, and we only have a small car! Reception check in went smoothly and the room was fine, although the balcony we had booked on Booking.com was not large enough to sit out on and actually overlooked the car park and restaurant area so you wouldn't want to sit out there anyway in public view! The room was large enough, wifi connection was average, room was clean enough with toiletires provided and sleep quality was great. We did enjoyt he buffet breakfast the following morning, plenty of choice, healthy options and a nice courtyard area outside to sit if the sun is shining. All in all a nice stay and good value, but nothing outstanding or particularly romantic about this hotel if that is...
Read moreWe recently stayed for 2 nights whilst on our way to Austria. A pleasant suprise on arrival was to find that the hotel parking (included in price) was in fact within an underground car park just around the corner - they reserve so many spaces for their guests.||The staff were polite and helpful but did not all understand English. Our room was spacious - we elected to book a "comfort" room and it was worth the small extra cost. It had a tiny balcony which was a blessing as we were able to leave the doors open all night to get some flow of air. The downside was no air conditioning! Bathroom was a reasonable size, toiletries supplied and a complimentary bottle of water each in our room.||Breakfast was included and was excellent - hot and cold buffet. This we ate in the charming courtyard.||There is a bus stop almost opposite the hotel and so we visited Wurzburg for the day on the local bus. ||An...
