The food at Hotel Heinz is really very good. The accommodation however, not so. We complained about the first room they gave us, as it was reminiscent of a bedroom in an old people's home. They graciously offered us an alternative which, whilst still not so impressive, was certainly an improvement. Even so, the view from our very tiny balcony showed a flat roof in dire need of repair.
As I mentioned, we thoroughly enjoyed the food and would quite happily go there for Sunday lunch, but we would not stay.
Another big positive is the location. The rear of the hotel overlooks grazing paddocks for horses and sheep, as well as a forest. We walked through the forest for a couple of hours and really enjoyed it.
On the down side, the spa/wellness side of things were not what we were expecting. The water in the indoor pool was considerably colder than one would expect. As a chronic back-pain sufferer, I was looking forward to the relief of a soak in warm water, but it was anything but. I also cut my finger on a broken fitting below the water line of the pool. I hope it has already been made safe.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but with better maintenance and more contemporary décor it would be...

Apparently I had now 2 rooms booked on my name , which they found out the morning before the last night, nevertheless they wanted me to pay the 2 bookings and on top could not control her emotions. This is unseen. We were considering to have our customers stay there, though we don’t want them exposed to such a terrible customer experience.
Now we are waiting on a response on an email from our travel agency. Let’s see...
Read moreWe stayed for two nights in a two room suite and brought our dog. The hotel is dog friendly and the room was suitable (vinyl floor). I did think however that for the price the suite, although spacious, was somewhat basic. No coffee maker, no slippers in the bedroom (although these were provided at reception on request). I was also not a fan of the single basin master bathroom. Furnishings veer towards dated. However, all of the staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. The spa area is amazing, They are in the process of building an outdoor swimming pool, so the view to the back at the moment is affected, and there was some noise until the weekend began. The food in the restaurants and the wine list...
