This lovely hotel is situated in the Allgäu Alps, near lake Constance. Our stay there was planned from my husband as a birthday surprise for me. I had no expectations, but when we got there, I was impressed. We were welcomed very warm with a welcome drink, following nice buffet lunch (we got there around 14.00 o'clock). Then we were shown the hotel. Our room was a junior suit with lovely view of the mountain. It is spacious, very nice decorated and gives the feeling as you are at home. Almost everything in the bathroom is made from wood. There is also a bathtub in the room, which makes it really romatic. The spring-beds were very comfortable and the pillows are great! Near the bed, there were baskets, prepared with things you need for the SPA. ||The SPA includes 5 different saunas, very nice area for relax, an outdoor pool and a special area, where you go if you've booked a massage or another cosmetic procedure. I received as a gift from my husband a relaxing massage of the whole body, which was made with oil and was extremely nice. Then I got a cosmetic procedure, that totally sent me into a place, where I've forgotten all my worries and thaughts. ||In the evening we had dinner at the restaurant with a menu, that we chose during our lunch. Everyone seemed to know about my birthday and congratulated me. I also received a nice card and a gift from the hotel, which was very thoughtful. ||The interesting about the hotel is, that you pay for the room, but in the price you have also breakfasr at buffet, lunch (buffet too), cake in the afternoon and dinner, where you get to choose the main course. It's nice, that, when you check out, you may stay the whole day in the SPA and also go to lunch, if you want... and if you prefer to stay at the pool or in the sauna, you may eat an apple or nuts and drink some juice or tea. ||The food in the restaurant is healthy oriented. You have option to make fresh juices in the morning, for which you have plenty of fruits and vegetables. The whole choice of products is in direction healthy eating, which is really good.||However, there are two things, which are reccommendation for the hotel:||- the water of the pool wasn't warm enough, so we couldn't enjoy it as we wanted.||- at dinner, we had to wait for the dishes too long. We had reservation at 19.00 and finished with the dessert after 22.00. Afterwards we couldn't sleep all night, because we felt heaviness in our stomachs. This service should definitely be improved! ||Otherwise, we loved the attention and how welcoming were everybody. This is a hotel where everything is being touched to the smallest detail.||Thank...
Read moreArriving at the Hotel we felt very welcome, they carried our luggage and parked the car, staff was very friendly and helpful. The Alpine lodge style interiors are very cosy and we loved the atmosphere. Rooms are lovely. We had a very nice welcome drink before dinner. On arrival and departure date you can come/leave whenever, enjoy the welness area and lunch and all other facilities, you can also do a late check-out including dinner. ||||One of the reason I didn't rate it higher was that waiting times especially for dinner were too long (45 minutes from soup to main meal) and they were definately understaffed and not very attentive, leaving our empty dishes on the table for more than 30 minutes. For a hotel in that price category not acceptable. ||||Wellness area is very nice, with sweet relax corners, 4 different saunas and a outdoor pool. BUT ;), the outdoor pool was not really in use as it was just that little bit too cold to be comfortably outside. The relax room in the sauna area was not really heated well enough to relax after the sauna. There are only two little toilets that are used by both men and women with wrongly designed taps that splash water on the floor so it is really not welcoming to change, as changing room is way to small and also for both sexes without any privacy. Especially as you can use the welness area even after check-out on your departure date - changing rooms would be very welcoming ;). When we left towels were piling up everywhere and no staff in sight to clean. ||||We used the spa as well and staff here was lovely, professional and we felt very well treated. ||||We booked the girls day weekend special which is definately not worth the money. Better to book treatments as you like. DVD player was old and DVDs scratched and dirty, the 30,-€ shop voucher didn't really help much as the boutique only offers clothes and very view interior items but nothing we really liked. ||||What they never really mention "officially" is that you have to pay for even the tap water (they call it service charge) during dinner times (but not during lunch or breakfast where you serve yourself "noideawhy"). Prices are too high for all drinks, I guess they need to make it up somewhere. For one Schnaps they charged 9,-€!!!. ||||Proximity to ski lift and nordic skiing is perfect and very nice, winter walks start just in front of...
Read morePretty much everything during our stay was perfect and focused on giving us a wonderful and relaxing time in the beautiful Alps. It is clear that the family owning the hotel cares a lot about the guests (they are always to be seen giving a hand here and there, or chatting with guests), and equally cares a lot about their employees (one has definitively the impression that they are indeed considered part of the family).||We loved the decoration of the hotel, subtly bringing together traditional elements with more modern touches and a delicate, and sometimes original, vegetal presence. In any case, the atmosphere reflects an environment thought with a lot of taste and attention.||The service is always efficient and couldn’t be more friendly. Maybe I’m being naive, but I couldn’t help thinking that the people are simply happy to work there and do their best to satisfy the guests. The food is always very tasty and of high quality, alternating between specific offerings and large buffets focusing on local products.||As to the wellness area, the new building is a fantastic addition to the original hotel, with top of the line saunas and three swimming pools, of which one heated and the other fully natural (it almost gave me the feeling of swimming in a lake). The gym is modern and very well equipped for a hotel (I tried it). But even better, one can simply decide to go out and participate in one of the many activities (hiking, mountain biking, etc.) proposed by the hotel. Of course, many other activities are proposed indoors, such as yoga or Qi-gong classes or Ayurveda cooking courses.||This hotel is simply a fantastic place run by lovely people. Definitively...
